The Public Safety Department strongly condemns the killing of Rea Vaya bus drivers in Soweto. These brutal attacks not only threaten the lives of dedicated public servants but also disrupt safe and reliable transport for commuters.

It is suspected that the attacks are due to the engoing dispute between Taxi association and the Rea Vaya with regards to the feeder routes to the Rea Vaya bus stations.

Law enforcement is actively investigating, and perpetrators will face the full might of the law. Rea Vaya bus services remain temporarily suspended until further notice. Passengers are advised to use alternative transport.

Violence against public transport workers will not be tolerated!
