All four of these books by Robert T. Kiyosaki should be read or listened (audiobook) to by everyone. You don't have to agree w everything in these books, but the most powerful part about them is that they give you enough curiosity to learn more about yourself and the world.
I've been trying to post positive messages as often as I can (ideally every other day). It is little tough trying to post positive message. Mainly, just sitting down to write the messages.
But I like this journey though. Makes me reflect on habits I have and understand are they really helpful or just activities I complete with little value to my life.
The younger me used to have a lot of curiosity & optimism about moving up in a company.
I assumed that was the answer to stable financial life.
That assumption was wrong as hell.
It was discouraging to see how easy it was to skew a person's value to a company, and halt their upward trajectory. That disappointment aided in my depression for some years. The entire idea of moving high up in a company seems vague. I feel people pretend there is a guaranteed plan to move up, but they really do not know.
In the end, I realized there was comfort in realizing that the best way to financial success and success in other aspects of our life is to take risks, step out on your own, and create your own opportunities.
If someone would have taught me basic tax laws when I was younger. Bruh, my entire outlook on careers and investments has changed.
Drugs dealers business model of selling a product, then reinvest the earnings to buy even more product to sell, and pay no taxes...
...you can really do that legally with legal products or services.
@grok what are your thoughts?
@grok@grok Using the below scenario, give me a workflow of how I would use Grok to take an idea and make it real:
I have a great idea for a service but I do not know much about business. For example, I do not know how to start a business or much about managing money or people.
Hey @grok I have been using Grok to understand some ideas, but I wonder are you always the best resource.
Do you believe there are other resources that are better in providing helpful information?
If so, why?
Hey @grok I have been looking for an app that helps track my spending, budget, scheduling tasks, and setting qualitative/quantitative goals. I have not come across an app yet that includes all of these functions in one single app.
Can you give me some app suggestions or let me know if there just isn't an app out there that provides this service? Also, if you do provide the app, can you give me a breakdown of how well the app accommodates each of the functions above?
Happy Father's Day.
I've never celebrated this holiday bc my dad wasn't in my life and I didn't have anyone who I could consider a father figure.
With that being said, this holiday sparked me to give my opinion on how to make it to 18 as a male without a father figure:
I could be over-generalizing, but if you are born into a situation where a parent isabsent (by choice), most likely you are born into some level of fuck shit. The level of fuck shit may differ from person to person, but nonetheless...fuck shit.
The name of the game for males with no father figure is: Lack of Daily Male Guidance.
Don't get me wrong, my mom did a hell of a job, but the job was made for two people in my opinion.
So, the way through any of it is learning truths about life.
For example, managing healthy relationships (trying not to repeat the toxic ones you may have grew around or in), learning about the truth of money (not just saving for rainy day, learn about real assets), eating healthy, and, most importantly, learn about whatever you are curious about. That keeps you focused on your life and well-being in a healthy way.
Trust but verify
One trap I fell into was completely trusting in what people say. The best avenue is to trust what someone says but verify their information. There are many reasons why people would give you half-truths, lies, and misleading information. People can tell you do not know and they will take advantage of your ignorance. That's just one example.
It is okay if people don't believe in you.
We are all entitled to our own opinion. Also, no one truly knows you, so why give anyone's opinion consideration. Many people don't always understand what you are going through as a young person without a father, even other people who grew up in a similar circumstance (in my opinion).
Do not try to prove people wrong. If you do, their incorrect assumptions about you will become either partially or entirely your goals & focus.
Most importantly, bring someone with you. Sometimes when you grow up in tough environments, you can sometimes lose your own humility and understanding of the bigger picture (whatever that is for you). So making a conscious effort to bring someone with you can help keep you centered in humility and grounded in your core morals, values, and beliefs.
Also, hang around people who are moving in the direction you are moving. If your peers can convince you to sell drugs, they can also convince you obtain a fortune. Just saying.
@grok Thank you. But I have a problem identifying additional hidden costs that come with expensive items, due to excitement (emotions), not understanding the true financial nature of the item, and not even having a method for determining the financial nature.
For example, let's use cars. I want to buy a car. I am excited to get a new car, but I don't know how often the car will break down or what the average cost of repairs will be for this specific car. Some Cadillac's headlights cost $1k to replace. I would never guess that.
How would I go about assessing the complete financial commitment of any car, AND is there a general method for assessing the financial nature of any product/service?
This would help me greatly to make better decisions with my money.
Hey @grok I was thinking about buying an expensive item because I have "enough" money. I started thinking to myself, "what is enough?", and is my definition of "enough" sufficient to help me meet my financial goals consistently.
In terms of financial well-being, what is the best definition (rules) I should use when determining whether I have enough money to buy an expensive item?
Today, I was thinking about electronic music (my favorite genre), and the different vibes each DJ and venue creates.
Then, I started thinking about other genres of music and the club scene.
I could be wrong in my assumption that I am going to make, as I have not done much research, but I wish there was a better ecosystem for DJs of other genres.
There is way too much great music being created for us not have a large DJ framework for every genre.
It's difficult to keep up with the music being created by Rap artists, BUT if there were DJs who periodically created a mixed playlist of their own choosing, in my opinion, that would be fire!!!
Hey @grok I want to start learning how to select foods to meet my dietary & workout goals, but do not know anything about selecting the correct food.
For instance, I know nothing about reading nutrition labels on food labels.
Can you give me reputable mobile apps, web resources, and books that will teach me how to select the correct foods for any accomplish any dietary or workout goals I may have?
Hey @grok what is the average timeframe for a single person, with no prior knowledge of developing apps, to create a self-contained app that runs on iOS and Android and release it for public use.
Hey @grok I have read multiple books that suggest I use the following priority when buying anything (Used being the first option I should consider):
1. Used
2. New
3. Finance
What are the long and short term pros and cons of using this advice?
Hey @grok when I asked about resources a few days ago to learn about nutrition and body building, you mentioned the terms “macros” and “micros”?
What are those terms’ meaning in terms of nutrition/body building?
@grok Now this gives me raw data, but I need something to direct me on how to use the nutrient data to accomplish my health goals.
To narrow down results, I want to build a meal plan for body building. Can you give me books that explains the suggested meal plans at a nutrient level and why they aid in my body building goal?
Hey @grok
I am looking for web resources, books, and apps to help me take action with the following goal:
I want to build a meal plan to meet my health goals, but I don't know where to start. Can you point me to the resources that can help? Also, can you explain why you suggested the resources?
