Dear Ogogo, โค๏ธ
As a Nigerian and someone who works in oncology, hearing the news about your cancer diagnosis really touched me.
I have watched you on screen for years, and like so many Nigerians, I have grown to love the characters you've brought to life.
So today, I want to use this moment to educate, not to give medical advice to your family, because I don't know the details of your diagnosis, but to help others understand what stage 4 cancer actually means.
Stage 4 does NOT mean someone is going to die tomorrow.
Stage 4 generally means that the cancer has spread from its original or primary site to another part of the body.
Unfortunately, metastatic/stage 4 cancer is generally not considered curable. But that does NOT mean it cannot be treated.
Depending on the type of cancer and its biology, treatment may include:
โข Chemotherapy
โข Immunotherapy
โข Targeted therapy
โข Hormone therapy
โข Radiation
โข Or a combination of treatments
The goal may be to control the cancer, slow its progression, manage symptoms, and help the patient live as well and as long as possible.
So when I hear that the family has been told that chemotherapy cannot proceed, my questions would be:
1๏ธโฃ Where is the primary cancer?
Knowing that is incredibly important because treatment depends on the type and origin of the cancer.
2๏ธโฃ Why has the medical team decided not to proceed with chemotherapy?
Is it because of his overall health or frailty?
Is his bloodwork or organ function preventing treatment?
Is chemotherapy unlikely to benefit him?
Or are there treatment limitations based on what is available in Nigeria?
These are VERY different situations.
If the medical team has determined that his body cannot safely tolerate treatment, then treatment may shift from trying to control the cancer to palliative/supportive care, focusing on comfort, symptom management, dignity, and quality time with family.
And please, PLEASE be careful.
When a loved one receives a cancer diagnosis, desperation can make families vulnerable to people selling "miracle cures."
No herb, tea, supplement, or secret concoction has been proven to cure stage 4 cancer.
Don't allow anyone to exploit your fear and hope.
If there is uncertainty about the treatment plan, seeking a second opinion from a qualified medical oncologist is reasonable. A second opinion doesn't mean you don't trust the first doctor. It means you want to understand all available options.
Ogogo, I am rooting for you. โค๏ธ
I pray for strength for you and your family, wisdom for your medical team, access to the best possible care, and comfort throughout this journey.
And to everyone reading this: Cancer is not one disease. Stage 4 is not a treatment plan. The details matter.
Let's lead with compassion, seek accurate information, and never give false hope but let's also never assume that a stage 4 diagnosis means there is nothing left to do.
With love and hope,
Dr. Mutiat โค๏ธ
Please letโs rally around our beloved Sir Taiwo Hassan, who is currently facing a serious health challenge battling cancer. ๐
As shared by his family, they are NOT looking for money or financial support. What they urgently need is medical direction.
They are searching for recommendations for standard hospitals, specialists, or advanced treatment centers anywhere in the world that can review his files and offer treatment options right now.If you know someone who knows someone in the oncology space, or a medical avenue that can assist please help reach out to his family immediately.
Letโs share this until it reaches the right hands! ๐
Good day Mr President Bola Ahmed Tinubu @officialABAT
A sad news broke out last night from the family of our entertainment veteran and legend, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, that he is suffering from stage 4 cancer ๐ข
His daughter further said that they have secured an India visa for him, but due to his condition, he is not allowed to fly out of the county
The help they are asking for now is to have professional doctors that can treat him here in Nigeria
Mr President, please I beg you to do everything in your power to help Ogogo and provide him all the help he needs at this moment
Ogogo is a national treasure, he has lived and dedicated all his life, up till this moment, in the Nigeria entertainment industry, representing and contributing to the growth of our nation globally
Mr President, please save Ogogoโs life ๐๐ฝ๐ข
Donโt let his family and all his lovers globally cry over him
Truly, God is the only one that can save life, but also, God will not come down to do that, He will use someone for the job

Our administrationโs commitment to the welfare of our dedicated and hardworking workers is not just a promise; we have backed it with visible action. We have restored dignity to the labour force in Osun.
We do not consider the payment of salaries a political achievement, but a responsibility and the rightful reward for the labour of our active and retired workers. We have cleared inherited backlogs of salaries, pensionersโ gratuities and promotion arrears, while ensuring regular training and capacity development for our workforce.
Instead of offering empty promises like those in the past, we have delivered tangible results that workers can see, feel and experience. We have demonstrated that workersโ welfare is not an afterthought under our administration, but a central pillar of our governance.
We promised to restore dignity to labour, and we have kept that promise.

I am deeply humbled and grateful to God and the good people of Osun State for the confidence reposed in me to serve for another term.
This victory belongs to the people. I commend your resilience, your courage and your unwavering commitment to democracy. I will not disappoint you.
As we turn the page on the election, I appeal to all Osun people to embrace peace, forgiveness and unity. There is no victor, no vanquished. I extend the olive branch to all my co-contestants. I am the Governor of all.
I also remember, with a minute of silence, the victims of the needless pre-election violence. May their souls rest in peace. I urge our traditional rulers, community leaders and all stakeholders to lead the healing and reconciliation process across our communities.
To the people of Osun, you have entrusted me with another four years. I will reinforce our strong points, correct our shortcomings and build on the progress we have made.
Osun is on the march again. We will accelerate development, widen the net of good governance and continue our journey to transform Osun from a civil service state into an industrial state and a preferred investment destination.
I thank Mr President, His Excellency Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his support for a free and fair election. I also appreciate all lovers of democracy, at home and abroad, and especially the media for standing firmly with democracy.
