I’d like to gently clarify a few things in this post.

Over the years, parts of my story have been exaggerated or changed.

The description of my health journey in this post is not accurate. I was not sent home with stage 4 cancer and told I had less than a year to live. I did not undergo chemotherapy or radiation treatments. I also was not given cannabis oil by friends or family — I was the one who made the oil myself.

It’s important to me that my story is told accurately. If you would like to understand what truly happened, please refer to my autobiography, The Rick Simpson Story, where everything is explained in my own words.

I have always spoken only about my personal experience and why I chose to share the preparation method publicly.
While I was living in Canada until 2009, I grew cannabis in my own garden, made the oil myself, and provided it free of charge to people who were in need. I shared the preparation method publicly in 2004 because I believed people deserved access to information so they could make their own informed decisions.

I do not produce or sell cannabis oil, and I am not affiliated with any company selling products under my name. The term “Rick Simpson Oil” was adopted by others over time.

@chiographer @BowTiedYukon For someone dealing with conditions such as prostate or bowel cancer, this method of using RSO may feel more suitable in certain situations. Suppositories are fairly simple to prepare, but it’s important to be mindful of how much oil they contain.
