Pleased to attend last night’s Special Education Awards Ceremony along with other electeds, hosted by @LCPSOfficial. It was a great opportunity to celebrate the tremendous accomplishments of these students and faculty. Thank you to Izabelle and David for the photos!
Grateful to have his intellect, temperament, and experience in service to our Commonwealth and nation. Thank you to Sen. @Kannanforva and @ChairRandall for their contributions at this event. (2/2)
Joined Sen. @MarkWarnerVA for a community conversation at Legacy Elementary. I had the chance to see him up close on the Senate Budget Committee when I worked for Sen. @ChrisCoons, and now have had the pleasure of working alongside him here in Virginia. (1/2)
I’ll be with Sen. @MarkWarnerVA tomorrow as he hosts a community conversation at Legacy Elementary. 10:30 am Saturday May 30th. Join us. RSVP ➡️ https://t.co/Zn0EmpKIBh
So great to see Delaware’s finest in the Capitol yesterday. Chelsea, Trinity, and Senator @ChrisCoons have been serving the first state for decades and are fantastic public servants! #netde
Speaker of the House Don Scott on Gov. Spanberger vetoes:
"It's her prerogative. We have three co-equal political branches of government for a reason. There is nothing that she has done that I can say I'm surprised by. I can say that there are a couple that I'm disappointed by, but I'm not in despair. I think those issues could continue to be worked on, and I think there are ways that we can continue to move forward on those issues."
Worth noting: it isn’t your older generation’s tech either. AI, social media apps, etc. make tech a bigger roadblock to educating kids than it did even five years ago.
For many reasons, we have to adjust. We need to minimize tech and bring back things like reading whole books.
This week, the General Assembly voted to accept the governor’s amendments to HB 1270, my bill to increase transparency for Uber and Lyft drivers.
Proud to have worked with @Kannanforva, @NewVAMajority, and @ace_collab on this one.
The bill is now law.
