Thank God there was no SM in the 1990s when militancy was at its peak in Kashmir. It was not uncommon to read about encounter between a group of 30-40 militants and the army. And the army did suffer some horrendous casualties, especially towards first couple of years. If those encounters and own casualties had made it to the internet, the public here would've termed the Indian Army as useless and incompetent.
