@walsha Why is the rate of NTC’s and NMC’s so high in the NHL compared to higher revenue North American pro leagues? You rarely see a WIL LB on an NFL team demanding to play in a certain market or declining a trade. Agent issue or players? Seems like a bad long term plan.
@mikemcintyrewpg If this continues I think you have to see what kind of returns you could get at the trade deadline for Vlad, Iafallo, DeMelo, Schenn …
@mikemcintyrewpg@FansoftheJets Agree. As a general strategy in a market like Winnipeg GM should target players without NMC’s year round, not just jump into the trade board candidates at the deadline.
@EliteJetsFans Great post! You’re right, not sure there’s a Kawhi trade out there. But try something different please! Be aggressive with RFA’s; go after any rising star without a NTC; don’t be afraid to trade talent for talent that’s better suited for playoffs.
@mikemcintyrewpg Good point Mike. But, you have to consider some of the higher priced, higher profile players available may not have waived their NTC’s for the Jets. I think Chevy tried.
@hangarhockey I’m not a Chevy apologist, but did we really expect to land one of the big fish? In a league that hands out NMC’s and NTC’s like candy, Winnipeg is number 1 as a hard no for most star players.

@NikLynam Can we agree that neither Stanley or Heinola should be playing on a team with deep playoff or Cup aspirations? Ville is better, but should be D eight or nine on an actual contender.
