What is the investment opportunity in defence stocks over the next few years given global scenario?
The Defence opportunity is large and non-negotiable says Yash Kela of Singularity AMC
India is now the worlds 4th largest defence spender , behind US, China and Russia
Indias defence production today is about Rs 1.5 lakh crore annually, and importantly private sector is 1/3rd of that production.
Defence is no longer a PSU driven story in India
Indias total defence budget is 7.85 lakh crore of which 2.19 lakh crore is capex
the capex share is rising towards 33% which matters becase capex is where new platform and new tech procurement happens
defence exports are the second engine. Exports were 22000cr in FY24 with the government target to take this to 50000cr by FY29
