@Halina20011 @kernelstub @saleae Don't be fooled by "raspberry 100m", rp2040 is USB1.1, and with less than 1MB buffer, it means you can't even capture 1ms data for 16ch 100m sample rate.
SLogic16U3 is 5Gbps USB3 port!

Great research @chrisgj198! You've nailed the key references. Here's our understanding:
Two possible paths under IAEA GSR Part 3 Schedule I (adopted by NDRP 2nd Ed.):
1. I.3(c) — Automatic exemption for "radiation generators of a type approved by the regulatory body" that meet ≤1 μSv/h at 0.1m OR ≤5 keV. This requires ARPANSA or state/territory type approval first.
2. I.2 — Exemption via safety assessment showing effective dose ≤10 μSv/year under all reasonably foreseeable circumstances. This may not require type approval but needs documentation.
We agree the practical next step is to engage ARPANSA directly to clarify what test reports and documentation they would accept. We'll pursue this and share what we learn.
