“If China and Russia seek to usher in a new world order, they will need to offer something better than Washington’s liberal internationalism—an onerous task indeed,” wrote G. John Ikenberry in a 2022 essay.

MORE: Iran’s top operational military headquarters, the Khatam ol Anbia Central Headquarters, warned on July 2 that Iran will deliver a “decisive and swift” response to any US interference in Iranian efforts to manage the strait. The statement added that all oil tankers and commercial vessels must use the Iranian-designated route for safe passage and warned that the armed forces will respond to any vessel that uses an alternative route.
Iran has repeatedly attacked vessels in the strait to coerce them to use the illegal Iranian traffic separation scheme and thus implicitly recognize Iranian control over the waterway.[3] Iranian Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister for Legal and International Affairs Kazem Gharibabadi said on July 2 that the strait is under Iranian control, not that of US Central Command (CENTCOM), after CENTCOM hosted a regional security meeting in Bahrain with military commanders from Gulf and other regional states. The meeting in Bahrain comes amid Gulf opposition to Iranian control over the strait.
Iran is meanwhile conducting a concerted diplomatic and military effort in response to the apparent resistance from Gulf countries to try to deter any international efforts to restore maritime traffic outside Iranian control. Iran recently attacked commercial vessels in the strait after the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and Oman announced a new route on June 23 to move hundreds of stranded vessels through the strait through a designated safe route along the Omani coast, for example.
A new report has confirmed what many suspected: some individuals listed as journalists in Gaza were, in fact, active members of terrorist organizations. @pressfreedom has acknowledged the problem and launched a review of its records after evidence emerged that combatants had been misrepresented as media workers.
So why did the @BBC fail to tell its audience?
Instead of informing viewers that terrorist groups have deliberately exploited the protections afforded to journalists, the BBC continued to present casualty figures and media worker deaths without explaining that some of those counted may have been active combatants.

Parks in Skegness and across Britain are becoming hunting grounds. Grown men with no children in tow are loitering around playgrounds, watching the children play. There are no families, no relatives, just adult males treating these spaces like observation points. Parents are now forced to scan every bench and corner before letting their little ones run free.
This is not normal. It is not harmless. When men with no legitimate reason to be there gather near children’s play equipment, the risk is obvious. Britain has already seen too many incidents of creeps approaching kids in parks, filming them or worse. The pattern is clear enough that decent people without children now avoid these areas out of basic sense. Yet the loitering continues.
Parks exist for families and children. They are not public viewing galleries for random adult men. The solution is straightforward. Ban adults without children from designated playground zones. Enforce it with zero tolerance. If a man has no child with him and no valid reason to be there, he should not be allowed to linger. This is not discrimination. It is basic child protection.
The endless stream of incidents has made this common sense overdue. Parents should not have to treat every trip to the park like a risk assessment. Children deserve spaces where they can play without being watched by strangers with no business being there. Enough is enough. Protect the kids. Keep the predators and the loiterers out.
