BREAKING - VERY SIGNIFICANT STATEMENT ISSUED TONIGHT.
🚨 Open letter from people of Protestant backgrounds concerning the Garvaghy Road.
🚨 They are effectively calling on the Orange Order to see the bigger picture and to bring to an end the Drumcree Parade.
🚨 The letter has been sent to Secretary of State, Chris Bryant & Helen McEntee (Minister For Foreign Affairs - Dublin).
@CNW_2022@Ryanair I am so sorry you are going through this.
We had reason to cancel Ryanair flights recently and we had to wait until the day after the travel was scheduled for and then request a ‘letter of no show’. There was no way to do this in advance of the flight date. Hope this helps x

There has been a 227% increase in the number of students who are registering for Irish courses at Queen’s University Belfast this year.
As a result of this new demand, The Language Centre has put on extra classes.
One of the most important developments is the Irish Language Residential Scheme, a place where students live together through the medium of Irish. It creates a natural speaking environment and a friendly community between speakers from various backgrounds. The scheme started for the first time in 2022.
"A daily effort is made here to normalise the Irish language. We are starting out on the revival of Irish – not only in the University, but in society in general. It is heard in the media, in music, in movies, on social media.
"The most important thing is to give space and respect to Irish speakers." (Mark Harte, Irish Language Officer at Queen's)
Tá méadú 227% ar líon na mac léinn a chláraíonn don chéad bhliain ar chúrsaí Gaeilge in Ollscoil na Banríona i mBéal Feirste i mbliana.
Mar thoradh ar an éileamh nua, bhí ar Ionad na dTeangacha ranganna breise Gaeilge a chur ar fáil i mbliana.
Ceann de na forbairtí is tábhachtaí ná an Scéim Chónaithe Gaeilge, áit a gcónaíonn mic léinn le chéile trí mheán na Gaeilge. Cruthaíonn sé sin timpeallacht nádúrtha labhartha agus pobal cairdiúil idir cainteoirí ó chúlraí éagsúla. Thosaigh an Scéim den chéad uair in 2022.
"Déantar iarracht ar bhonn laethúil an Ghaeilge a normalú anseo. Tá muid ag toiseacht amach ar athbheochan na Gaeilge – ní hamháin san ollscoil, ach sa tsochaí i gcoitinne. Cloistear í sna meáin, sa cheol, sna scannáin, ar na meáin shóisialta.
"An rud is tábhachtaí ná spás agus meas a thabhairt do na Gaeil," (Dúirt Oifigeach Gaeilge na hollscoile Mark Harte @ChocoHarte)

@sarajcox I remember trying (and failing) to sew a little tiny piece of red ribbon on the back pocket of my jeans because I so wanted Levis but they were too expensive!
Lisnasharragh is an anglicisation of the Irish, Lios na Searrach.
Lios - fort na - of the searrach - foals
Same pronunciation, slightly different spelling. Every time you say Lisnasharragh, you’re speaking Irish.
It's strange how a billionaire, who's literally stealing billions for his wife and father-in-law, is telling us that homeless people, asylum seekers and disabled people who have almost nothing are the problem
What is even stranger is that there are people stupid enough to listen
@_LauraGaynor I switched over at this point.
RTÉ enabled that, with the name signs printed. If we can’t appreciate beautiful , meaningful Irish names in Ireland it’s a sad day. Not funny.
