@Variable_Gear@KurumiAlt69 He reincarnates as a child. The people he is attracted in his new life are his age or older. At no point is he attracted to someone younger than himself, and he is there for over 70 years. Its not that simple.
@TheMidArtist@Bala_Niranna@KurumiAlt69 His maturity. He dies an immature shut in, isolated from the outside word for 20 years (starting at age 14). This would not be a factor in a modern world, single life scenario. But reincarnation is different. The author leaves the conclusion up to the readers own interpretation.
@TheMidArtist@Bala_Niranna@KurumiAlt69 He is a blend, a hybrid. He also believes himself reincarnated and born as a new person. In the beginning, he will switch between calling himslef old and a child depending on the circumstance or whatever he feels fits better at the moment. The age of his memories does not reflect
@SkylerBVB_@stuffnt01519494@KurumiAlt69 Respect is for his new self, after reformation. Sympathize is for his old self, but sympathy does mean acceptance and forgiveness. Those must be earned. Crimes are crimes, but criminals can reform. Sins can be forgiven. People can change.
@SkylerBVB_@stuffnt01519494@KurumiAlt69 And if that is a long read, then yes, that is why I dont respond in kind to EVERYONE who has not already studied the material.
@SkylerBVB_@stuffnt01519494@KurumiAlt69 His 2nd life is a long slow road of growth and rehabilitation. The people he saves and helps along the way would disagree with his "unforgivable" sentence.
@SkylerBVB_@stuffnt01519494@KurumiAlt69 And yet, even with as terrible a person as he was with as despicable actions as he commits, he was not that person when he was still just a 14 year old kid. After his sibling beat him and force him out of his house, he still willingly sacrificed his life to save 3 strangers.
@SkylerBVB_@stuffnt01519494@KurumiAlt69 His experience with the world he left behind to hide in his room was degradation, physical abuse and sexual abuse. He dehumanizes other people to cope with his attitude of hatred and loathing. He has become horrible, and he knows it himself.
@SkylerBVB_@stuffnt01519494@KurumiAlt69 Him after his enablers (parents) death. He spent 20 years, since the age of 14, in isolation. He has no people skills. His education post middle school is from forums, movies, and youth books. He suffers from severe paranoia and depression, with a heavy dose of self hatred.
@SkylerBVB_@stuffnt01519494@KurumiAlt69 It wasn't about attraction. It was a means of self destruction that mirrors event later in his second life (and again in his alternate future). Only by those events, he has different means to lash out.
His older brother was the only family member left who would try to reform-
@SkylerBVB_@PlatinumPrintt@KurumiAlt69 98% of statistics are made up. I have offered no excuses. There has been little to no "good faith discussion" here. Go ahead, screenshot me 1 example.
@SkylerBVB_@stuffnt01519494@KurumiAlt69 While I can sympathize with the character, it does not excuse him. He would agree, because realizing this is a large part of what drives his rehabilitation.
@SkylerBVB_@stuffnt01519494@KurumiAlt69 I don't idolize him, but I do respect the man he becomes (Rudeus the Quagmire is a title granted by the end of the main story).
These are the worst actions of his prior life, the actions that directly lead to his death. They also help explain how he became what he was.
@TheMidArtist@schizoposter4@KimHajinsax0@KurumiAlt69 He is not "literally" a 37 year old dude in a kids body, or that kid would be fragmented all over the floors and walls. He goes back and forth over his own maturity/immaturity throughout the first quarter of the entire work (first two seasons of the anime).
