The Nigerian healthcare system in one conversation:
Patient: Doctor I have been waiting 4 hours
Nurse: Wait small
Patient: I think I'm dying
Nurse: Everyone thinks they're dying
Doctor: arrives. Sorry I was in traffic
Nigerian parents when you're sick:
"Drink hot water with ginger"
"Rub Robb on your chest"
"Tie wrapper around your stomach"
"Sleep early"
"Pray about it"Meanwhile the diagnosis was appendicitis.

The human immune system is the most sophisticated defense mechanism ever created.
It has fought every virus, bacteria, and cancer cell you have ever encountered.
And it does it for free.
Every day.
All it asks for is sleep, water, and vegetables.
Give it what it needs.
Pepper soup ✅
Alcohol ✅
Suya ✅
Late night ✅
Sleep deprivation ✅
Monday morning hypertension ✅
Enjoy yourself.
But your liver and heart are keeping score.

Disturbing, but understandable, update from Samsung Health.
I have always said that keeping your health privacy intact is impossible in the AI era. Because AI is only as good as the data we feed it with. And that data must come from us. Samsung just proved me right.
Here is what they shared with users:
"The health data you have allowed us to collect and process will be used for AI training and modelling, including human review, to improve Samsung Health, including algorithms to analyse health conditions and our AI features.
Opting out of this consent via the Samsung Health app’s settings shows a pop-up saying that Health will delete the user’s data and not sync it going forward if they withdraw consent."
I'll opt in because I value the AI health assistance I get more than the risk of them exploiting my step count data.

You have been running all week.
Your body is carrying everything.
Tonight — put the phone down at 9pm.
Drink water.
Sleep early.
Your body will thank you.
This is a doctor's order.

The drugs that are saving lives in rich countries:
Cost $50,000 per year
Not available in Nigeria
Not affordable if they were
Not covered by any insurance
Not even known by most Nigerian doctors
Medicine has always been unequal.

What do you think is the biggest difference between healthcare in Nigeria and abroad?
I want to hear your experience.

In Nigeria we have normalized:
Fainting from hunger as "managing"
Sleeping 4 hours as "hustling"
Chest pain as "heartburn"
Forgetting things as "old age"
Crying every day as "life is hard"
None of this is normal.
All of it needs attention.

What is one thing you do every day that you know is destroying your health but you cannot stop?
Tell me honestly.
No judgment from this doctor.

Sepsis kills more people globally than cancer.
In Nigeria it kills silently because:
Infections are undertreated
Antibiotics are resisted
Hospitals are reached too late
Signs: high fever, confusion, fast breathing, cold clammy skin.
This is an emergency.

This week — drink one extra glass of water daily.
Sleep 30 minutes earlier.
Walk for 10 minutes.
Small changes.
Real results.
Which one will you start with?

o every Nigerian woman reading this:
You are not too strong to need help.
You are not too blessed to be stressed.
You are not too faithful to need a doctor.
Please take care of yourself.
👇 How are you really doing?

Nigeria's maternal mortality rate:
512 deaths per 100,000 live births.
UK: 9 per 100,000.
A Nigerian woman is 57 times more likely to die in childbirth than a British woman.
Same planet.
Same biology.
Different government.

Have you ever self medicated and it went wrong?
Tell me what happened.
You might save someone else from making the same mistake.

Your body sends warning signals for years before a major illness.
We call them:
"Just stress"
"I'm getting old"
"It will pass"
"I don't have time"
Your body is not dramatic.
It is speaking.
The question is whether you are listening.
