walked past a toddler with his mom today and as i passed he said loudly “who is that?” and his mom was like “we don’t know her, we don’t know everyone”
Watching the @NBA All Star game and @TeamUSA at the Winter Olympics, it’s clear that sports — just like music and art — still has the power to bring us together, build community, and remind us of our common humanity.
They were selling a version of it to retail investors that has to be in pain right now. In this deal, retail (the marks) got what was left over after EVERYONE else with a claim got paid back. Literally the riskiest layer. Called it equity.
Up until recently, software subscription revenue seemed like an absolute guaranteed stable income stream. Did anyone create any synthetic versions of it so investors could up their exposure?
As far as I know I am not this woman’s fiancé but lived through the exact same preference / mom sleep need combination. I would like to meet all of these people tweeting about how this is bad because sometimes (gasp) I would take nights so mom could sleep. Everyone made it
fiancé was up half the night with the baby, who was inconsolable for much of it. this morning i heard him thru earplugs and 2 closed doors and went in, and the instant i took him he stopped crying. i soothed him for a few minutes and handed him back, and he immediately started screaming again despite fiancé doing everything identically to me.
we are generally pretty equal in how much time we spend taking care of the baby, so it’s not like the baby’s more familiar with me. it’s nice to have this superpower but also i do not want the related responsibilities.
Today I was actually thinking about the 7 different couples I know that all got married 25-28 and are now 35-38 years old and divorced with 3 kids each (1 couple has 4 kids) all 2-6 years old or so. All moved to a new state & away from their family for marriage.
Seems better to be 24 and single.
Take your time.
Actually make sure your values align.
Actually make sure you’re best friends first… so if you suddenly get sick, can’t pay your bills, become deformed or disabled, etc. You will still stay with your best friend and figure it out.
@xwanyex This makes sense to me and it’s because the odds are low. Makes it feel more satisfying to you but you don’t want your kids to roll the same die.
