@pervaizalam@omarali50@pervaizalam keeps harking back to ABV,MMS&Modi eras. He isnโt alone,Gen Bajwaโs strategic calculus was similar:that sooner or later,๐ฎ๐ณ wud hav to engage ๐ต๐ฐ
Ground shifted nearly 20yrs ago. If u still havnโt noticed, congratulationsโU r not analysing the joke. Uโre the punchline๐
@pervaizalam@omarali50 Mr. @pervaizalam argues that the Christmas Day 2015 visit happened despite Mumbai. That misses that ground had shifted. Pathankotโwhen a new generation took control, pushed back, and began systematically cornering those who had enabled the old paradigm. U were a decade late in 2015
@omarali50 Punjabi&Kashmiri muslim troops were drawn from the following formations for deployment in Hejaz:
-26th King Georgeโs Own Light Cavalry
-58th Vaughanโs Rifles (FF)
-59th Scinde Rifles (FF)
-Madras,Bengal&Bombay Engineer units
-Imperial Camel Corps
-3rd(Lahore)Div
-7th(Meerut)Div
@omarali50 Omar Saheb, not new, features in British Foreign Office's Well of Power paper&dates back to punjabi Muslim soldier deployments in Hejaz. Pak had a similar arrangement with 26 countries during Vietnam War. Why it unraveled then is the key to judging how long this one will endure๐
@somnath1978@omarali50 Even in the 70s, it was obvious that Punjabis had washed their hands of them. State was never viable; still isnโt and never will be. India mustn't invest herculean effort in propping it upโour priority should be safeguarding our security interests.
@omarali50 Leverage size of Indiaโs market to negotiate aggressively with US& Europe for lower tariffs on apparel, ceramics, textiles, with a single objective:exports in these sectors shud face tariffs lower than ๐ง๐ฉ & ๐ต๐ฐ.
Ignore ๐ง๐ฉ &maintain Python squeeze on ๐ต๐ฐ
Let policy run for 15yrs๐
@omarali50 India should take break and let the cycle play out. Thereโs no need to lose sleep over threats from a country whose 98% land borders and 100% sea lanes run through the very nation it threatens. For the first time, Iโm optimistic about the textile sector ๐

With the freebies that all political parties are promising the voters of Bihar, what exactly is the economic growth that we are looking at, as a Nation? When the state revenue will only be distributed, who will generate revenue? This stalls India's rise, on so many fronts.
@praveenswami The age gap between Macron and Brigitte is exactly same that between Melania and Trump โ yet society judges far more harshly when the man is younger. Some of us have experienced that firsthand, never ending, shape shifting.. ๐
Oil deals with Russia at subsidized rates have largely benefited India as a country. The reason why the US doesn't want us to buy oil from Russia, while it imports Uranium from Russia, is that oil from the US doesn't have many takers across the globe. Anyone who says otherwise to sabotage our trade with Russia can be identified as a foreign agent acting against our economic interests.
India is expected to be a non-challenger this century because the countryโs democratic system renders it open to foreign influence. For India to become a developed nation, it would have to become another China in terms of economic size. If India was to average 7% growth for two decades, and China, 3.5%, the latter would be twice the size of the former. For India to catch up, it would be have to clock 8% growth for three decades, and China, 3% over the same period. The US believes this scenario to be next to impossible.
If India and China reach parity, it would naturally mean that China is not the only challenger to US hegemony. Achieving high growth from high levels will involve New Delhi playing an altogether different set of strategic and economic cards at some point. India cannot simply play by the rules of neoliberalism set by Washington but rather set the rules in some regards by outmuscling both Chinese and American competition in specific domains. This means conscientiously cultivating commercial leverage over partners and competitors by gaining market share, influencing international institutions, and becoming an irreplaceable partner in global trade. It would also demand that India builds a largely independent, ring fenced technology ecosystem and a formidable, indigenous military. None of this will be possible with the current governance system which only delivers patchy successes.
The path to becoming a developed nation involves setting oneโs governance apart from the Western liberal system and the Communist system, by blending elements of both with native national characteristics. Conversations on setting up a second republic should accelerate. This is because external forces at play exploit internal vulnerabilities to curb Indiaโs rise. Structural weaknesses of the current democratic system must be addressed. Decolonization is an economic imperative and incrementalism will likely fall short of delivering this crucial transformation.
Buying EU sovereign bonds on "weakening inflation" even as the EU taxes the food supply chain is like buying US subprime MBS in 2004 on "rising home prices" even as 19-year-olds making $7/hour were using $300,000 NINJA loans to bid up home prices.
Have fun storming the castle!๐
Western sovereign debt requires negative real rates to avoid nominal default.
Hoarding hard assets is a rational free market response, but if investors hoard productive commodities, inflation surges & billions suffer/starve.
Hoarding gold & BTC that "aren't used for anything" = billions do not suffer/starve & the global economy flourishes as consumable commodities remain cheap. Choose wisely policymakers.
These depth maps will explain why bay of bengal and southern indian ocean is such a gods gift to the yindu as a ssbn ssn playpen. Notice how deep BoB is with shelf dropping like a cliff from our bases 1/3
@BhadraPunchline Fact that Israelis were live tracking drones proves that it was shadow boxing game. Becoz over the horizon radars(240km) can't track drones of size Shaheed and cruise missiles. At 240km earth curvature prevents radars waves to reflect and come back.. a planned de-escalation ๐
