Tarun, a Hindu, was killed not in religious violence, but in a longstanding animosity, and Sanghis have caused riots throughout the country.

1. 12- or 13-year-old Muslim boy Unaiz Khan was shot dead (point-blank head wound) in Krishna Nagar, Lucknow during a friend’s birthday party.

2. 28 years old Muslim man Aamir was killed on or around 3 March 2026 in Bhiwadi (Khairthal-Tijara district, under Chopanki police station). He was shot by cow vigilantes.

3. Roshan Khatoon, a fasting Muslim woman in Amhi village, Madhubani district (Ghoghardiha block), was allegedly beaten and humiliated by a mob after approaching the village head for justice in a dispute. She was forced to drink a mix of urine and alcohol.

4. A 65 years old Abdul Salam in Jhagarua village, Darbhanga district, Bihar (Jamalpur police station area). He was beaten to death with an iron rod after objecting to communal slurs.

In just one week, four innocent Muslims have been killed across the country — from 13-year-old Unaiz Khan to 65-year-old Roshan Khatoon.

Every Muslim knows, deep inside, that justice is unlikely to be served when the perpetrators belong to Hindutva mobs. And yet, despite this pain and anger, you will not find Muslims out on the streets calling for revenge against innocent Hindus. You will not see their homes being bulldozed in collective punishment, nor mobs demanding blood for blood.

Instead, there is silence, grief, and an unbearable sense of helplessness.

Last week, Monu Manesar — accused in the horrific burning alive of Nasir and Junaid — walked out on bail. At the same time, two Muslim youths accused in the killing of a Hindu revert were shot dead in what appears to be an extrajudicial killing.

These painful contrasts raise a haunting question in the minds of many:
Is there really one law for everyone in this country, or are some lives simply worth less than others?
