I got my results back on my latest blood test. No monoclonal (bad) proteins present! A year and a half after my bone marrow stem cell transplant for #amyloidosis and I’m in remission. I’m back to my normal routine, including air travel. 😊

I’ve had a good month recovering from my bone marrow stem cell transplant. I’m getting stronger, eating normal food and able to get around much better. I’m looking forward to traveling for work soon. Still staying quarantined for safety.

I’m out of the hospital now. I ended up with a blood clot in my lung which complicated things. I’m stable now, working to improve my strength.

I’m back in the hospital again due to a high fever. Pneumonia is the likely problem. I was making slow but gradual improvements up until this episode.

I’m admitted back at the Cleveland Clinic due to low blood pressure, bad diarrhea, nausea, hiccups & dehydration. The hiccups have subsided and I have a colonoscopy planned for Monday. Still have heavy fatigue.

Due to fluid retention and shortness of breath I was admitted to OSU hospital for a week. I was released on Friday with symptoms under control. Progress is slow and gradual. I’m still weak but improving from home. #amyloidosis

Today is Day 9 post stem cell transplant to treat my #amyloidosis. My WBC count has started to improve, which is good. I’ve been feeling terrible, but it’s going as planned. I’m hoping to be released from the Cleveland Clinic by the end of next week to finish recovering at home.

I checked into the Cleveland Clinic today and received an infusion of Melphalan to kill all my bone marrow. I get my stem cell infusion Wednesday. All is going well and I’m feeling well. 😎 #amyloidosis

Today I harvested 200k stem cells for a total of 1.88m to date. I’m getting shots of Neupogen and Plerixafor right now and go back to Apheresis tomorrow to harvest more stem cells. I’m on schedule for the stem cell transplant next week. 😊 #amyloidosis

@rkentjames It was suggested that Venetoclax May have been the primary cause of reduced stem cells, but it also lowered my kappa concentration significantly.

Due to not collecting enough stem cells last week I’m going back to the Cleveland Clinic on Jan 7 to finish collecting stem cells with the chemo & stem cell infusion the following week. I’m not happy about the delay but I’m still getting this done. Gotta kick this #amyloidosis

After 5 days of stem cell harvesting this week I came up significantly below the minimum needed to proceed with a stem cell transplant next week. I’m waiting to hear my new schedule to complete the harvesting. The Plerixafor injections I’ve been taking wipe me out. #amyloidosis

Third day of stem cell harvesting this week, and at this rate I won’t have enough by the end of week. So my Doc had me get an injection of Plerixafor along with the Neupogen I’m taking to release more cells. I’m going back tomorrow to try again.

I’m back at the Cleveland Clinic getting Apheresis and got 280,000 stem cells harvested today. I’m hoping to do better tomorrow to harvest enough by Friday to proceed with my stem cell transplant next week. #amyloidosis

After two days of Apheresis it’s apparent I’m not harvesting enough stem cells, so my Docs decided to have me wait a few weeks before getting more stem cells harvested. This pushes my stem cell transplant to early December. I’m disappointed with the delay but still optimistic.
