No new snow on access road and none expected. Little to no new snow at or below hut level. Trail snow is melting, expect bare spots. Maybe a week from now winter will come back.

Snowing in Ashford upper snow parks 6" new snow. Trails to huts on the S side, groomed last night, snow from upper snow parks to huts. N side trail groomed top of 45 rd to Copper Creek Hut, out to 10th Mt Division. Compact snow on access rds Carry/use tire chains.
Roads to upper snow parks are free of snow. Snow on the lower trails is thin; at higher elevations it is 1 to 1 1/2 foot deep. The higher trails have been groomed. It will be the end of next week before our next shot of snow may arrive.

What to expect next several days! A small amount of snow on access roads to upper snow parks. Carry tire chains. There will be some trail grooming above 3500 ft. Sunny dry weather starting Saturday thru Monday.

Access road to all snow parks have snow on the road and by the time you get to the upper parks maybe 3 inches. The snow is not melting, and this makes the road surface slick in places. Use 4 wheel drive and chains if necessary.
Winter may return to Cascades this week. If you are heading for the MTTA trails, be prepared! With luck this will be a change that will last the rest of the winter. Carry and use tire chains! If this major shift occurs the E coast will warm up, winter will return to West coast.

Trails conditions have not changed much in the past week. You will find a mix of dirt and frozen snow, don't expect this to change much during the upcoming week. Access roads are free of snow, post your snow park permit in your window.

Access rds plowed. Trails to huts in So. Dist were groomed today, trail to Cooper Creek Hut groomed yesterday. Snow from upper snow parks to huts, with 2+ feet of snow at hut level. Great Skiing tomorrow, non skier's stay to the side of the trail.
Trail Grooming status 1/7 @ 4 pm Trail to Copper Creek, Snowbowl and High Hut have been groomed. Trail to Yurt groomed to within 1/2 mile of Yurt, where a downed tree needs to be cut.

Snow starts in Ashford, 6 inches plus at upper snow parks, 12 + inches above 3200 ft. Rds being plowed (carry tire chains) S Dist trails being groomed, N Dist trails will receive some grooming today. Non skier's please stay to the side of trail.

This info is meant to supplement the forecast of 1/4 below. Monday, we started to get some light snow at Hut level. Expect increasing snow coverage on the trails from snow parks up to the huts. Rd plowing will become necessary. Snow forecast all week.

Much of our snow has melted! From the upper snow parks expect mostly bare trails to the huts. The good news is with luck we may have snow covered trails to the huts and 2+ ft of snow at huts by next weekend. Make sure you have vehicle chains.

Expect 1 or 2 inches of snow on Assess Roads, snow parks have been plowed. Carry and use tire chains. Trails to huts are snow covered 12 to 18 inches of snow. light snow and some sun next 3 days.

Snow level is up and down. Roads to upper snow parks should be no problem, carry tire chains. Most of the trails above snow parks are covered with 6-18 of snow. Forecast is for cooling temp. this weekend.

Less snow and warmer temperatures expected for several days. Not much snow on access roads to upper parking lots. Carry tire chains! There will be a few inches of new snow each day at huts. Less snow as you drop elevation from huts.

Very windy in Ashford last night! Snow at Longmire this morning. Expect snow on access roads from lower snow parks up. Warming tomorrow reduce snow on access roads. Snow comes back Friday, carry tire chains.
So, relevant weather changes this week. Snow will start Wednesday with elevation impacting access roads and continuing throughout the week. Roadbed still warm so expect slushy conditions to start. Continued cold will result in ice at upper reaches by weeks' end so gear up.. dg
