@quillpig@AOgieglo Are there measurable, concrete climate deliverables attributable directly to the carbon tax collected? Other than attacking disposable income, which, overtime & through desensitization is a temporary measure.
@suebaker07@AOgieglo Agree. Ideally, that would be the initial driver, then once desensitized & it’s the norm, then the only limit will be disposable income. Would be nice to know the action plan that carbon tax is committed I.e. concrete deliverables eg research
@AOgieglo “Ear-marked” directed taxes vs general revenue: Assumption is that carbon taxes are specifically directed toward the minimization of climate change. If not, then it’s funneled into general revenue which is wide-open & not committed to climate. Where is this $$ being applied?
@Victoria59L Hopefully the strike will identify which positions are essential & must be retained; & as for the non-essential & redundant positions ….
@Victoria59L Feds stayed home & were paid during the entire time & they’re suffering? They’re setting the way for other working Canadians? Not a chance; if anything it’ll be the contrary. To sustain what they want = tax increases, less hiring & layoffs
@Leftwords Crunching numbers: 155,000 x $280.00/d = $43,400,000 min. est. savings in fed.payments to strikers per day.
If strike 30 work days, then accommodate 1 year at 10% salary increase. Thereafter? prepare for layoffs to sustain?
@GlobalRegina@NathanielDove_ Shabob doesn’t answer the questions…And what’s this, “in real time”? Did he learned anything over these past 3 years? If confronted with another challenge he is not the person to lead…evidently there were no lessons learned by him.
@nationalpost Jagmeet you’ve permitted the NDP to enter into a co-conspirator territory….allowing this is a FUBAR for the NDP. As for you; no one cares.
@yqraction PIA most definitely followed by platform & security assessment (eg hardware, software, data purging, security roles). Only mandatory data for the duration of the contract; then data purge( not delete).
