@Riamus01 This is a example of an aggressive mimicry tactic started to appear roughly 20 to 10 million years ago, mainly in Sauropsidas branch.
The benefit of such mimicry is to lure in members of Hominoidea in order to get a quick protein dense tube, with minimal caloric energy spent. π
@aglwumbo This had to be the case were they hired a bunch of artist for their style/options then chose a handful then fried the rest.
Valley's art goes hard but probably wasn't they style they were looking for but still wanted to try it out.

My style started out with me trying to mimic how I draw with felt pens and alcohol markers, but has changed into somethin else due to the available tools in digital.
TL;DR, I treat my digital canvas like a sketchbook.
