After visiting a huge number of primary classes to talk about space and the Space Station, pupils from all across East Caithness sent in their questions for the astronaut that will take part in our direct, via radio, contact with an astronaut. Good luck choosing them @ARISS_Intl!

A hearty welcome to the amateur radio community for Isla, Aiden, Logan and Devin today as they passed their Foundation exams this morning. After 8 weeks of study they sat their exam and all had excellent scores. Congratulations all and we look forward to "getting them in the log"

Jacob MM7IFL and Corey MM7WCH were great ambassadors for the club today at the @WickHigh clubs fair for our new S1 pupils. They demonstrated QSOs on 2m, CW using V-band and also talked about HF communication. Also, how cool are our club shirts?!

I've always said that my main reason for starting my school radio club is that I wished I had that experience when I was young. I genuinely feel that my direction and career in life could have been changed with access to someone who could have shared their knowledge about radio

A great day for Jacob, MM7IFL, today spent testing out our Slidewinder on multiple bands using both SSB and CW. His lucky Yaesu hat helped him make a contact with HB9WOC in Switzerland 😜

Mr Aitken had a blast with all the Noss Primary 7s today.They've got incredible questions prepped to ask but they're keeping them secret for now🤐).We also played "control the ISS" with the lads acting as the ISS under instruction from the girls who directed the yagi @ARISS_Intl

Well done to Logan today who braved the cold to set up a @SOTAbeams linked dipole in the school grounds for his first go on HF. We heard stations from Italy, Netherlands and UK. We talked about dipoles, antenna resonance and SSB to reinforce his Foundation lesson last night.

Over 100 children visited today at Noss Primary School learning all about our @ARISS_Intl contact and how we'll use radio to talk to the Space Station. Pupils from Primary 1 to Primary 4 asked great questions and were very curious about everything!

I'll be honest, I had a slight moment of panic that I'd pulled a full class out, on to wet grass wearing their "indoor" shoes and noticed the pass only had a minute left. They thought it was magical. I was just relieved some European amateur radio operators saved my day 🎉 🎉

Magic moment today in Keiss Primary. Pupils preparing for the @ARISS_Intl contact. Learning about radio, callsigns and making contacts and we noticed that SO-50 was passing by. We ran outside (wearing indoor shoes - whoops!), pointed south and heard a voice. Pure radio magic 🛰️
