My son and I played the game of "What if" to list the results of any given choice. It was fun to see his take on it. Then I taught him the "T" chart strategy-something like a debit-credit concept. He still uses those to decide.

Once he is little more grown up, I'll let him take the decision, even if it Includes Failure. We learn from our mistakes. I'll also keep in mind his choices never go beyond fix-back option
