When you hear Dutton calling for an audit of Government spending on Indigenous communities he’s counting on two things:
That you don’t know that police & prisons is counted in that spending & Indigenous communities rarely have control over funding they get & how it can be spent.
Ναί! Ναί! Ναί! Ναί! Ναί!
To every Greek Australian join me and the @NeosKosmos and #VoteYES to the Voice on October 14th!
Here is my message to you in #Greek.
Too many Australians take for granted the greatness of what we have. Home to the oldest continuous culture on earth, 65,000 years of Indigenous history, knowledge & culture. And home to over 200 nations of migrants and refugees across our great cities & regions. We are so lucky.
Fascinating how big supermarkets would rather pour tens of millions of dollars into security surveillance systems rather than employ more people to actually serve us, that & not price gouging is your best way to reduce theft. Poor people are not the problem, woolies & coles are.
People on all sides of politics are backing the Voice, including Liberal MP Bridget Archer who I campaigned with today.
We've seen Liberals like former PM Malcolm Turnbull and former Indigenous Australians Minister Ken Wyatt come out in support.
Because it goes beyond politics.
People on all sides of politics are backing the Voice, including @NStottDespoja and Liberals for Yes' @KateCarnellAus & Sean Gordon.
It's because by voting Yes to recognition, to listening, and to better outcomes - they know Australia has nothing to lose and everything to gain.
On October 14, Australians will have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to change our country for the better.
Voting Yes for the Voice is a vote for recognition, listening and better outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Read my piece in @theTiser:
“On October 14, together we can bend the arc of history a little further towards justice by voting YES.” Campaigning today with @tanya_plibersek@LucyTurnbull_AO@spenderallegra

Ngarrindjeri Elder, Uncle Derek Walker has used his ancient cultural knowledge to create new jobs and empower his community in South Australia. Listening to local solutions like Derek's at a national level will create a better future for all of us. #yes23
"I observe that there are those who oppose [the Voice], who don't seek to unite this country… who seek to say things which are designed to make people fearful. And I don't think that is the way we should be having this discussion — @SenatorWong#abc730
The Voice is a generous invitation & I hope our nation can respond with the same open heart.
We haven’t made progress towards Closing The Gap, so it’s clear something has to change.
The Voice has come directly from Indigenous Australians - it’s time for us to listen
