“Why would you give a country committing a genocide any weapons?”
@mehdirhasan presses Rep. @RoKhanna on whether or not he supports an arms embargo on Israel, especially after his visit to the West Bank.
.@ZackPolanski: "We know if we taxed 1% on assets of £10m or 2% on assets of £1bn or more, we could be raising between £15-£24bn.. & just as importantly, we would stop the hoarding of assets. Its that hoarding of assets that's creating the inequality in this country" 🎯

I am a woman who worked, lived & played in Glasgow city centre for 27 years. I walk & cycle daily in the city centre . This article is spot on, I'm sick of being told how scary, lawless Glasgow is and it simply not true, its a racist line. Our city is complex, always has been.

We cannot have sustainable energy because it threatens the oil industry. We cannot have healthcare because it threatens insurance. We cannot have peace because it threatens the weapons industry. Capitalism built a system where doing the right thing is treated like bad business.
"Eventually, almost everyone claims they opposed apartheid...But justice is not measured by where we stand after history has issued its verdict. It is measured by where we stand when the verdict is still being rendered." -@NYCMayor on Nelson Mandela and Palestinian human rights
