Right, the market has chilled out a bit, and so have I. Reflections: Everything is going bananas in the US, which we all enjoy because we're doom goblins and we loathe the status quo. Meanwhile, shit is probably also going bananas in China, which I didn't really consider.
How long will it take the US market leaders to catch up and implement the innovation? The spec is out there, all you gotta do is implement it and deploy it — but in the meantime their products are suddenly losing their lustre and their rhetoric will sound way overblown.
On the other hand, Chinese companies don't have the same route to market in the US, and it'll be a challenge to figure out how to deliver services to US companies before the US competitors have caught up. The war isn't about free customer facing services.
I think I'm done with this place now. If you give a shit, I can be found at https://t.co/tVEot8GXNh where I actually post fun shit because the mood at BlueSky is less pearl clutching, handwringing and snuff videos and more art and funny jokes
Smell ya later
Worth reading the comments here just to see all the butthurt web devs nitpick shit they know nothing about to distract from how endlessly embarrassing the web tech stack is and how bullshit most of the front-end code written for it is
200ms is fast for web programmers. Meanwhile game programmers have to target the latest 240Hz screens. That's 4.16ms to simulate and render the whole game world (can contain million objects).
Any operation that takes 1ms+ is considered an expensive operation in real time apps.
Sure, there are pockets of cool even among the provocateurs and hustlers, but for every Red Scare winking knowingly there's a bunch of dead earnest manospherites selling bde supplements
Trite observation that's starting to feel like one of those painfully true clichés: Feels a lot like X's current product strategy is to encourage users to move to BlueSky.
Everyone left here seems to be some kind of provocateur or hustler, while all the cool kids who wanna post art and jokes went BlueSky.
And yes, if you are the kind of person who spends your days stirring shit on free website X dot com, let me assure you: You are so uncool.
