Everybody talks about how nothing is affordable anymore, but nobody talks about how cheaply everything is made now. Cars, appliances, clothes, and so much else are designed not to last. Part of the affordability crisis is that we’re constantly forced to buy the same things over and over again.
@rushicrypto@hellovask The older I get, the more I realize life isn't about optimizing every single risk. Eat well. Exercise. But also take the trip, have the conversation, and make the memory. None of us know how much time we have.
Today I called an old school friend after hearing he was sick.
I expected to hear about stress, exhaustion, maybe something temporary.
Instead, he told me he had been diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer that had already spread to his liver and lungs.
What hit me hardest was hearing how carefully he’d lived. For years he ate whole foods, exercised, paid attention to his health, and did everything we’re told is supposed to reduce the risks.
And yet, life had other plans.
It was a reminder that our bodies are far more complicated than social media posts make them seem. Health isn’t always a simple equation. Genetics are complicated. Biology is complicated. Sometimes terrible things happen to people who did everything “right.”
Take care of yourself. Eat well. Exercise. But don’t forget to live too.
Call your friends. Tell people you love them. Make memories. Laugh more. Put off fewer things.
Because life is fragile, unpredictable, and still worth living every single day.

"It is a major industry, and we must protect it."
Different parts of India are witnessing soaring temperatures and the challenges that come with it. This heat is harsh on all of us and I urge you all to take as many precautions as possible. Please stay hydrated, keep water with you when stepping out. Offer a glass of water to others. In weather like this, such kindness goes a long way.
So is hantavirus just… over now?
One minute people were talking about it like it was the next global disaster, and now nobody even mentions it. Feels like the internet speedruns fear until the next thing shows up.
I’m convinced something happened to time after 2020.
Days feel shorter.
Months blur together.
You wake up and somehow it’s already Friday again.
I know I sound insane but deep down a lot of people feel this too.
Statements I cannot believe are controversial:
1. Everyone deserves to eat
2. Everyone deserves a Home
3. Everyone deserves medical treatments when they are sick
