8. When will nepotism of the elites ever end? When will the people see that profiteers are not pastors?

7. One of the most respected pastors in the area, is also one who is widely known within the SBC,not only feels the same way but has lost tremendously at the hands of this man. When will the church pastor who best represents the SBC that we love ever be given a voice?

6. I have intentionally left out his name because when a fellow ministry brother called this farce out, legal action was taken against him. He was a small fry like myself and ultimately lost and is no longer in ministry.

5. Today I found out that he is going to be nominated for an important national leadership position and it sickens me. He will most likely win the vote even though every pastor in the community thinks of him as a charlatan. This type of thing is why we find ourselves in trouble.

4. Many other people in ministry that personally know him are NOT fans. He inflates numbers and exaggerates his position by having people who are famous for athleticism attract large crowds. People who know him on a tertiary level think he’s just the greatest thing ever.

3. I know of one specifically and our churches are relatively near. Extravagance is his life. He has gone out of his way to attempt to publicly embarrass me while being overtly braggadocious about his own status. He likes to brag about sports stars being in his pulpit.

2. I represent the majority demographic of small church pastors and by virtue of that, many will say that either I am envious or a simple failure to some degree. I will be ridiculed for my voice. Not all large churches have profiteer pastors but I know of plenty in general.

1. Corruption breeds corruption. The small and voiceless continue to be disenfranchised while those who profit from undeserved celebrity status continue to enhance their influence on the backs of others….and this happens in the local church.

Unless you had purchased a home in the foreclosure market or bought pre-2003, $53k in a median family (family of 4) in 2013 didn’t go very far
