Among the prisoners at the Dresden Stasi prison was Michael Schlosser, who secretly built a homemade airplane hoping to fly to freedom in the West.
The Stasi discovered his plan before he could take off. He was arrested and sentenced to 4½ years in prison.
Imagine risking everything just for the chance to be free. That was life behind the Iron Curtain.
Growing up in Mao’s China, it never entered my mind that escape was possible. I later learned many people tried to swim across the channel to Hong Kong. Most didn’t make it; many drowned.
And yet today, so many young people are willing to give up the freedom others risked—and died—for, in exchange for promises that a bigger government will take care of them.
Wow. Both mayoral candidates are still pushing housing as a solution for a DRUG PROBLEM. Delusional scammers. LA is so cooked. I was the only candidate talking about the real fix, so now you can enjoy Skid Row expanding even more!
Don't let communists run your city!
THIS IS INSANE! CA Democrats just advanced AB2108 - a bill to let criminals avoid punishment for what they call "crimes of necessity!" Watch me slam this absurd idea on the Assembly Floor:
🚨WOW!!!
A college student is being praised as a HERO after she saw 3 little girls drowning in Lake Washington, jumped in, and saved ALL THREE GIRLS.
The last one was UNCONSCIOUS, underwater, tangled in a rope, only her hair was still floating.
All 3 SURVIVED!!!! ❤️
Her name is Lillie Vehling.
She is an engineering student at UC Davis and an attacker on the women's water polo team.
She was in Seattle for a summer internship and went to Seafair for the very first time, sitting at Genesee Park waiting on the Blue Angels with a book in her hands.
Then she scanned the water.
Three girls were out past the buoy line, bobbing, screaming, going under. She is a certified lifeguard who started her own swim lesson program, so she knew exactly what she was looking at.
One of the girls was pushing the other two under just to get a breath.
That is when she went in.
She grabbed that girl first, to stop her from taking the other two down with her. Got her to shallow water. Went back for the second one.
Then she went back a third time.
By then the third girl was already gone under.
Lillie: "I just saw her black hair in the water barely floating."
The child was unconscious AND tangled in the rope of a buoy she had been clawing at to save her own life.
Lillie got an arm under her, lifted her head out of the water, and hauled her to shore.
The little girl coughed up the lake and came back.
Seattle Fire paramedics met them on the beach. One girl went to Seattle Children's Hospital in stable condition.
All three lived.
Seafair's president found her that same day. Her first question was whether Lillie was okay. Her second was whether she could give her a hug.
That night they brought her to the gala and knighted her "Lady Guardian of Lake Washington."
Admirals lined up to meet her.
And Lillie? She is chasing a career in the nuclear Navy.
Seafair's president says she hopes the next time Lillie comes back to that lake, it is in a Blue Angels cockpit.
"To save three people, I didn't think twice about myself."
GOD BLESS Lillie Vehling, and GOD BLESS the firefighter who raised her.
THIS IS THE AMERICA I KNOW!!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
🚨 WOW! HUD Sec. Scott Turner just showed up to fraud-ridden Los Angeles to announce the Trump admin is CUTTING OFF funding to the Homeless Industrial NGO Complex
LAHSA, the city's previous homeless organization, has LOST federal dollars 👏🏻
"They will not receive another CENT of American taxpayer money until they can account for every single dollar!"
"LAHSA had received $1 BILLION in taxpayer dollars over the last five years with no accountability and zero results!"
"And despite receiving more federal homelessness funding than any other jurisdiction in our nation, LA remains the epicenter of the nation's drug fuel homelessness crisis. During that same decade, that homelessness in LA doubled. HUD funding to LA nearly TRIPLED!"
"We have cut LAHSA's funding off from receiving another DOLLAR."
🔥🔥🔥
Most nineteen-year-olds who drop out of college do so because they can't hack the coursework, or afford the tuition, or just prefer to play video games in their parents' basement. @ethanrthornton dropped out for a slightly different reason: he wanted to build a better missile, and MIT was slowing him down. So, Ethan left the Ivy League, took a hundred-grand from Peter Thiel, and set out to disrupt the entire military-industrial complex before he was old enough to legally buy a beer. And I think he’s on the verge of doing that very thing.
Ethan grew up on a farm in Texas, working as an auto mechanic and hammering out custom kitchen knives to pay for his early engineering experiments. When he looked at the state of American manufacturing, he didn't see a lack of apps or software; he saw a nation that had forgotten how to bend metal, spark welds, and build heavy things at scale.
Today, Ethan is 22, and his company, Mach Industries, is valued at nearly two billion dollars. They’re building the next generation of autonomous defense hardware, and a lot of people are paying very close attention, including those in the Pentagon. Mach’s weapons are inexpensive, (relatively) easy to mass-produce, and most of all, lethal. I heard him speak last year at an energy conference and immediately invited him on the podcast. This was the first blank square on his calendar, and I was honored that he spent a few hours chatting with me.
Pay attention. This kid is going places.
Our whole conversation is here.

@BabyD1111229@Bob72270 Right? If they want to “save the environment” maybe make things like they did back in the day… that 1) you could fix yourself…2) all replacement parts aren’t proprietary and …3) would last more than 10 years!
Bill Maher’s audience audibly gasps when he reads what the Democratic Socialists of America are actually saying out loud:
MAHER: “Trump has told 1 trillion lies, but when he says the DSA are actually COMMUNISTS, that’s not one of them.”
“And it’s not hard to prove it just by quoting the DSA and their candidates.”
“J.D. Vance was on the show, and I told him that if the Democratic Party keeps going in the direction of the DSA, my vote was in play. And all I heard all vacation was, ‘Oh, my God, you’re a Republican now.’ No, that's not what I said. I said in play, and here’s why.”
“Because not a week goes by where I don’t read about some newly chosen, exciting new face in the Democratic Party. And then when that face opens its mouth, the Communist Manifesto or some other crazy shit comes out! Again.”
“Let’s just read the quotes. The DSA platform says: You work as much as you are able and no more than needed.’ If that was any closer to Karl Marx’s dictum, from each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs, they’d be sued for plagiarism.”
“New York Mayor Mamdani once tweeted, Karl Marx’s words exactly. They’re not trying to hide it. Their most popular influencer, Hasan Piker, thinks communism is so groovy, he laments the fall of two of the most murderous regimes in history, the Soviet Union and Chairman Mao's China.”
“Mamdani's aide, his top aide, Cea Weaver, said, ‘If you don't believe in the government's sacred right to seize property, it's over.’ And ‘impoverish the white middle class.’ What? That's a goal? You know you're supposed to scare people into voting for you, right?”
“One of the new, soon-to-be Democratic congresspeople, Darlesia Chavalier, supports seizing all properties from landlords and said, ‘Seize the means of production.’ Mamdani has said ‘The end goal is seizing the means of production.’ I think they want to seize the means of production.”
“Now, maybe you missed that in school or missed school altogether, but THAT'S COMMUNISM.”
“Now the coalition within the DSA called the Marxist Unity Group is in ascendance. And I must take them at their word. When their words include, ‘Our commitment is to the long-term struggle for a fully liberated classless society. In a word, communism.’”
“What do they have to do, tweet out ‘Elect more communists’? Oh, yeah, Cea Weaver did that.”
[Shows tweet, audience audibly gasps]
“Yes, [she really did that]! ... People gotta realize this is going on.”
@CAgovernor@TheYurokTribe Why did you keep sharing articles from @latimes ? They have a paywall so we can’t read it unless we buy a subscription.
You should be sharing links to official gov press releases.
We shouldn't have to pay a private company to read about what our own government is doing."
