The answer: Student loans should be similar to mortgages. People need to apply for an amount that will allow them to finish a degree. People must prove the average income of people with their degree can pay off the loan in 20 years. No adjusting for future increased earnings.
We agree that the student loan system is broken. The culprits we commonly look to are the banks. The party that we forget to blame are the ones that took the loans. We want to pretend that the lenders were smart and the people that took the loans were dumb so they got a bad deal

When a good reputation no longer is the ideal, we compromise the idea of loving our neighbor as ourselves. This will devolve into a dog eat dog society. If we want to avoid that outcome we need to ask ourselves what is good, and how do I align my identity with what is good
Most people will show up when someone calls on them. But very few build a relationship to be the person that gets the call. Showing up starts long before the call is needed.
It also doesnโt work to want to pursue greatness but not do what it takes to be great. Being authentic has to do with the internal workings of the person. If you want to portray something else become someone else, and then perception is inevitable
Successful people preach that to be like them people should be authentic, implying that ones authentic self will create a similar result. I believe the answer is be exceptional authentically. No one likes the athlete that says just eat your wheaties and you can do what I did
