In his latest message relayed through his lawyer, detained Palestinian doctor Hussam Abu Safiya says Israeli prison guards continue to beat him across his body, including sensitive areas, using their hands, feet and batons. He says the assaults also occur after meetings with his lawyers.

Abu Safiya also reports deliberate sleep deprivation through loud noises and speakers during the night, along with threats warning him not to disclose information about his detention conditions to his lawyers.

He says he previously suffered injuries to his head, face and other parts of his body, while Israeli Prison Service records documented an injury to his left eye and complaints of head and chest injuries.
