We were delighted to take part in Visions du Réel. VdR is a major annual gathering for documentary filmmakers, producers, and audiences from around the world.
This year, VdR invited Taiwanese-American director filmmaker S. Leo Chiang as a special guest. Mr. Chiang’s 2024 short film Island in Between powerfully portrays Taiwan’s complex identity amid geopolitical tensions. It made history as the first Taiwanese production ever nominated for Best Documentary Short at the Oscars.
We look forward to continuing to deepen Taiwan–Switzerland cultural exchanges, increasing the visibility of Taiwanese filmmakers, and advancing opportunities for their films to travel internationally and gain exposure in Switzerland and beyond.

What's significant about this Halloween crackdown is the quiet revolution among young people in some of China's cities: that they want to live life with joy, inclusiveness and freedom. In other words: diametrically opposed to the heaviness of the CCP.
BREAKING: School and work have been canceled across Taiwan, except for outlying Lienchiang and Kinmen counties, on Thursday, October 31, due to Super Typhoon Kong-rey.

The political entity is commonly called Taiwan. It is a democracy, has a government that operates independently of the PRC, and is recognized diplomatically by about a dozen nations and the Vatican. The IOC’s name of Chinese Taipei is inaccurate and not based in reality.
Imagine how it feels to win Olympic gold against opponents from the authoritarian country that wants to take your sovereignty - and when you receive your medal, your country's name, flag, and anthem are completely erased.
How much longer will this indignity be forced on Taiwan?
