For more than 30 years, residents and community leaders like Alonzo de Castro and Shirley Fearon have advocated a YMCA in the Northeast Bronx, and due to their passion and persistence, their dreams became reality!
Alonzo de Castro & Shirley Fearon, the heart & soul behind the new Northeast Bronx YMCA, envisioned a dream of the Y in the Bronx & now they're living it.
And on the day of the Grand Opening last month, Al was the first to take a dip in the pool!
