"Mercenary for hire. I'll take where the road leads me, just don't get yourself killed. I live forever.
You, on the other hand though... that's a different story."
"I've heard tales though, of others like me. Souls inhabiting bodies that aren't living.
Sigilyph, Claydol... I wonder if there's anything to learn from them."
"War is the greatest shaper of this world. It has the power to save and also destroy.... heh, I'd know that first hand.
I saw the kingdom I swore to protect fall. And now? I'm all that's left."
"The scariest thing about all this, is that I am the only thing left of my past. None of my friends are still around. The knights I fought alongside with.
My dearest Queen... she is gone too. Sigh. There must be a reason for this. A reason I am here in this modern time."
"I question the very foundation of my existence at times... for there is only so far back of which I can recall.
Was I born into this world, or created? Did I die and become this? Was I already this way?"
The haunted sword would wander without aim, having no kingdom to serve and no ruler to protect.
It was... odd. Uncomforting even, to be reduced to such a lowly state.
Was Falx's name even sung? Did history remember their bravery?
"Too many damned dragons. They can scorch down an entire kingdom, no matter how proudly it still stands.
Home... it's nothing now, but a ruin. For centuries I've slept. And worst of all, I've no home to return to..."
"Sleep. What's that like, I wonder?
I can't imagine it all going dark... and sinking into a calming abyss.
For I am never left in pitch black, no. The stars and the moon always shine for me."
"What is my purpose? Alive, yet not. In place of flesh there is steel.
Was I ever alive? Or just an aimless soul, attached to this accursed edge?
The truth is foggy... and all I remember is my fair Queen.. it is the only memory I can recall. And all that I cling to now."
"I searched. It turned from days, to months. Almost a year.
But here I am, at this resting ground... an ancient place now mound and turned to resting place.
Ego sum nihil. I am nothing, yet here I still am. Doomed to walk this earth however longer."
@KantoLostLegend The blade looked around, and all he saw was a human before him. Odd.. he thought humans moved their lips to talk.
No matter, he had a response to make towards that.
"Come again..? Are you saying there are people out there, that still need help?"
Sword for hire.
He needs something to do, the boredom KILLS him. Falx needs purpose in his life again, any task and any job will do.
He served his queen ages ago. Maybe he could serve someone new? Bodyguard? Protect?
Sigh.. what a struggle. The sword thrives off cause.
