It’s not this way anymore. And I genuinely feel bad for young people and I see why they don’t drink or smoke as much. But used to you could get 2 mad dogs and a pack of L and M Turkish shorts for 15 bucks. And that’s a wonderful Tuesday afternoon.
@loociddreem@nise_yoshimi Im a big fan of the interpretation that while Denji basically cant grow as chainsaw man Pochita can. And ultimately its pochita who goes "Hey man i love hanging out with you but this isnt good for you, im gonna take it away" and it makes his life better.
This is wild.
143 million people thought they were catching Pokémon. They were actually building one of the largest real-world visual datasets in AI history.
Niantic just disclosed that photos and AR scans collected through Pokémon Go have produced a dataset of over 30 billion real-world images. The company is now using that data to power visual navigation AI for delivery robots.
Players didn't just walk around with their phones. They scanned landmarks, storefronts, parks, and sidewalks from every angle, at every time of day, in lighting and weather conditions that staged photography would never capture. They documented the physical world at a scale no mapping company with a fleet of vehicles could have replicated on the same timeline or budget.
Niantic collected this systematically, data point by data point, across eight years, while users thought the only thing at stake was catching a rare Charizard.
The most valuable AI training datasets in the world aren't being assembled in data centers. They're being built by people who have no idea they're building them.

Historian 500 years from now: Hm. Says here children were inhaling space gas and dying at unseen rates from mysterious illnesses
When I posted this on June 21, 2025, I was thinking about the same situation we're living in today. But reality turned out to be — as it always is — stranger than fantasy. The US and Israel did attack Iran soon thereafter, but the attack was deliberately called off after 12 days, giving the attackers the mistaken impression, as it turned out, that Iran was a basket case, and Iran the correct impression that it needed to change its defence tactics, which it immediately did.
Fast forward to 2026, and now the US and Israel really went for it, trying to send the whole structure crashing down. While Iran's structure is indeed under strain, it is looking nowhere near collapse.
And this is indeed a huge problem. Because a war in one of the world's most strategic hubs, with enormous economic and strategic consequences, that someone started but doesn’t know how to end, may easily become something far worse.
Love to drink beer with my friends and listen to them be like “ok so I would go to my uncles cabin in wyom-“ belly full of opiates head full of lead for me brother. One last sigh of relief and then a little headache and then nothing for eternity.
