Vilhelm Bjerknes was a Norwegian physicist who stated, “It takes many years to drill a tunnel through a mountain. Many workers will not live to see a the break-through. But others will travel through the tunnel at express speed”. My life of drilling, fulfills my dream of speed.
Again and again we see the ease at which physicists understand the relationships and continuity between what the overwhelming majority of people see as discrete and unrelated factions.
Listening to @HighlightHump in this @iAmPatDowney film makes me want to coach again. The guy gets it. So many coaches try to fit everyone into their own box and it makes for a miserable environment. #personalityoverconfirmity
A high school athlete said to me recently: “I have been bullied a lot over the years but I have never been bullied as bad as I am with this coach that I have.” Are we really at a place where we allow fear, intimidation and disrespect be “coached” to young athletes?!
I think the one thing I learned from graduate school that functions well outside academia. I don't care if people think I am smart. I have argued with PhDs about protons moving. I don't need anyone's approval anymore.
The more I think about it, the more I think breathing should be involved in EVERY true training exercise. Probably with the exception of those looking to get extremely strong.
@mjmatc I drive 21-24 hours in two days 2x/year (MA>FL & FL>MA) and in both instances, I feel awful for a full week. Amazes me that people can do it for a lifetime.
....and the research just keeps coming....
@EricCressey, I can’t help but chuckle a little every time these articles come out and how lambasted we got years ago for writing on this very topic....
People who are sleeping in the same sympathetic state they are awake in, aren't sleeping at all. It's important people recognize the difference between restful sleep and just getting your eight hours.... #recovery#healing#HGH#nitricoxide#etc
