You want to know what tips you off that a story got retold by someone far from the source?
The small stuff. Watch this.
Surah 12:12, the brothers pitch their plan to Jacob: “Send him with us tomorrow so that he may PLAY and enjoy himself.”
Genesis 37:2: “Joseph, being SEVENTEEN years old, was shepherding the flock with his brothers.” A working man.
And Genesis 37:13-14: it’s JACOB who initiates, sending Joseph out to check on his brothers’ welfare.
Since when does a seventeen-year-old shepherd get sent on a play date?
But here’s the deeper cut, and this is the one that got me.
In Genesis, the FATHER SENDS the beloved son to seek his brothers. And the brothers see him coming and plot his death.
Now say it slowly. The Father sent the beloved Son to His brothers. And they killed Him. “He came to His own, and His own people did not receive Him.” John 1:11.
Genesis 37 is a Gospel stencil.
The Quran turned it into recess, and the stencil disappeared.
The details ARE the prophecy. Change the details, lose the Christ. Christ is KING.
Early in my walk I would beg Jesus to save me over and over when I would sin. I was ignorant still of the clear teachings of the Bible that said it is by faith (alone) we are saved. I would fail to behave perfectly and then be so afraid he didn’t want me anymore.
I was a baby in Christ and still learning.. but as time progressed and I read the word I understood that I didn’t earn my salvation, Christ did. I didn’t do it, He did. He finished it because I never could.
God has not called us to live in fear and uncertainty of our eternal destination. If we do this we are not relying on the death and resurrection of Jesus, we are not relying on the blood He shed to cleanse us of our sins but our own performance.
If you are seeking after God, if you believe and confess Jesus and desire to obey, if your sin brings sorrow because you have quenched the Holy Spirit this an indication of a new heart.
We have to throw ourselves totally at the foot of the cross or we have fallen from grace. Your work didn’t save you and your works aren’t keeping you saved …
Faith without works is dead? YES!
What does this mean? It means when you have been saved by grace through faith that your life and thought process about sin will absolutely reflect that.
It’s Christ ALONE 100% because even if it’s .0005% you , you’re going to hell.
This snuck up on me when I was still Muslim and never let go.
I always asked, “If Christianity is true, why is it so simple? Believe and be saved? Too easy.”
Then I realized simple isn’t the same as cheap.
It’s simple for me to receive because it was infinitely costly for Him to provide.
A gift is free to the one receiving it. It was never free to the one who bought it.
“You were bought with a price.” 1 Corinthians 6:20.
Free to me. It cost Him everything.
I thought salvation was too easy y’all.
I just didn’t see the price tag, because it wasn’t pointed at me.
It was nailed to Him.
Jesus Christ. You are Everything!
I loved the story of Job in Surah 38. Then I read the actual book of Job and found out what the Quran cut out.
First of all, Job’s story in both books is TOTALLY different. In the Quran, Job knows it’s Satan afflicting him off the start. Imagine writing the story with that spoiler.
The themes are so different too:
Surah 38:42: God tells Job, “Stomp your foot: here is a cool spring for washing and drinking.” That’s the healing. A foot-stomp and a spring.
Job 42:10 says something that rearranged my soul: “The LORD restored the fortunes of Job WHEN HE HAD PRAYED FOR HIS FRIENDS.”
Catch that. Job’s breakthrough didn’t come from a magic spring. It came when a suffering man interceded for the very friends who had tormented him with bad theology for thirty chapters.
The sufferer praying for his accusers. Where have I seen that before?
“Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” Luke 23:34.
Job is a shadow. The true Sufferer prayed for His tormentors while they were still driving the nails, and restoration flowed out of THAT.
The Quran gave me a spring. The Bible gave me a Savior.
It’s all about Christ.
You know what Muslims, Mormons, and Jews say to me constantly?
“You don't follow Jesus. You follow Paul.”
Bro... you don't understand how Christianity works.
You do NOT need Paul to believe Jesus is the Messiah.
If Paul disappeared tomorrow, Christianity would still stand.
Why?
Because the Torah and the prophets already did the heavy lifting.
Genesis: sin enters the world.
Exodus and Leviticus: blood, atonement, and substitution.
Passover: the spotless lamb.
Isaiah: the suffering servant.
Daniel: the Messiah.
That's not Paul.
That's Moses, David, Isaiah, Daniel, and the entire prophetic story.
Paul didn't invent Jesus.
Paul looked at the Scriptures and realized:
This was ALWAYS about Him.
And Paul wasn't some random guy making up theology.
He was a Pharisee trained in the law.
So when he preached, what did he quote?
The Old Testament.
Over.
And over.
And over.
His argument was simple:
If the Scriptures are true, Jesus Christ is unavoidable.
So saying Christians follow Paul instead of Jesus is like saying you follow the referee instead of the rulebook.
Paul isn't the point.
He's pointing you to the point.
Don't like Paul?
Fine.
Read Isaiah 53 without him.
Read Psalm 22 without him.
Read Daniel 9 without him.
You'll still end up staring directly at Jesus.
Christianity isn't built on Paul.
It's built on the Messiah the Scriptures were already pointing to.
And once I finally read Paul charitably...
Bro.
The man was an absolute SAVAGE for the faith.

He told his students to go to the windows.
Get out. Jump if you have to.
Then Liviu Librescu walked to the classroom door and pressed his body against it.
He was 76 years old. He weighed 140 lbs
The gunman was in the hallway.
It was April 16, 2007. A Monday morning. Solid mechanics class at Virginia Tech, Room 204. Twenty-two students, most of them 19 or 20 years old.
At 9:45 AM, gunshots echoed through Norris Hall. Room by room, the shooter was working his way down the corridor.
Liviu heard it. He understood immediately.
He had survived the Holocaust. He had survived a labor camp. He had spent decades living under Communist oppression. He knew exactly what evil sounded like.
He told his students to escape through the windows. Second floor — it was a drop, but they'd survive. Then he walked to the door and held it shut with his body.
The shooter tried to force it open. It wouldn't move.
He fired through the door. Wood splintered. Bullets came through.
Liviu stayed.
Behind him, students were climbing out the windows. Dropping to the ground. Running. One by one, all twenty-two of them got out.
The shooter kept firing through the door.
Liviu held it shut until every student was safe.
Then the bullets killed him.
When police arrived, they found his body at the door.
All 22 of his students survived. Not one was injured.
Liviu Librescu was born on August 18, 1930, in Ploiești, Romania.
He was Jewish. In 1941, when he was eleven years old, Romanian authorities sent him and his family to a labor camp. His father died there. Liviu survived. When the war ended, he was fifteen.
He went back to school. Studied engineering. Earned a doctorate from the University of Bucharest.
But Communist Romania had no interest in allowing a Jewish intellectual to succeed. He was blocked from academic positions. Passed over for jobs he deserved. He applied to emigrate. The government kept refusing.
Finally, in 1978 when Liviu was 48 years old — Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin personally intervened. Romania let him go.
He had spent most of his adult life trapped in a country that didn't want him.
In Israel, he taught at Tel Aviv University. Published over 300 papers. Became an international expert in aeroelasticity — the science of how air flows over aircraft wings.
In 1985, Virginia Tech offered him a position. He moved to Blacksburg, Virginia. He taught there for 22 years. His students loved him — demanding but kind, high standards, genuine care.
He was still teaching full-time at 76. Still publishing research. Still showing up every Monday morning for solid mechanics.
April 16 was the first day of Passover — the Jewish holiday celebrating liberation from slavery and oppression.
Liviu Librescu died on the day his tradition sets aside to celebrate freedom.
He spent his entire life escaping death and oppression by luck, by persistence, by the intervention of others. And on his last morning, he chose to stand at a door so that twenty-two young people could have the future he had fought so hard to reach.
He could have run. He could have hidden. He could have climbed out a window with his students.
He chose to stay.
The Virginia Tech shooting killed 32 people that day — the deadliest school shooting in American history at the time.
Room 204 had zero casualties.
Because a 76-year-old Holocaust survivor held a door with his body until every student behind him was gone.
His funeral was held in Israel. Students from Virginia Tech flew across the ocean to honor him. The Israeli government awarded him the Star of David Medal posthumously. Virginia Tech named a scholarship in his memory.
His son said his father died the way he lived — protecting others.
A man who survived everything evil threw at him for 76 years.
On his last day, he made sure 22 kids survived too.
Professor Liviu Librescu. August 18, 1930 — April 16, 2007.
Holocaust survivor. Labor camp survivor.
302 published papers. 22 years at Virginia Tech.
22 students out the window.
He held the door.
Same carrier that El Hadji Karamoko Quattara drove for when he killed three on the shoulder of I-81 in Roanoke County in the week of Christmas 2025. He then had all charges associated with that crash nolle prosequi, went back to MD, and continued to drive. All FOIA requests to VSP regarding that crash have been denied by the VA State Police. Roanoke courts would only confirm that he required an interpreter.
