I just wish there wasn't this push in a lot of gaming culture to treat remakes as replacements. This is a neat new take on SH2 that should live alongside the original, not instead

I love fixed-camera horror games, and it's frustrating that mainstream publishers/audiences seem to have decided the whole style is no longer relevant

That being said if you can accept the change, I'm glad the Silent Hill 2 remake is actually quite good at being what it is

Combat is another thing I don't think *needed* changing. But at the very least this is probably the best attempt to give the series new combat so far. Still feels appropriately simple, clumsy, and risky. Crucially it's also possible to avoid and doesn't feel overly encouraged
