@Tim_Vickery Tim, I assume you heard the boos in the stadium for the hydration breaks?
Do you still think Bielsa is out of touch with modern football because he spoke out against them?
@23liamlufc@LeedsFansCol I'm a big fan of Struijk - the lack of appreciation for him among the fanbase has always annoyed me.
Huge part of our defence and progressing the ball. Will feel strange seeing him line up for Brighton.
@23liamlufc@LeedsFansCol Yeah it feels a little short to me. Something like £25m would have been my expectation.
But I can understand it.
And I actually trust the recruitment team to spend it wisely
@23liamlufc@LeedsFansCol Maybe not.
But a massive difference is Leeds are not in a position to absorb the loss of income of letting Struijk walk next season for free.
Brighton absolutely can do that because of their trading success. The buying club knows they have to pay what Brighton wants.
@MatttillettN6@DAaronovitch@JeffGazzard@lucianaberger David knows this.
But he's attempting to use the same misdirection and obfuscation that proponents of the Bill utilise.
He would happily criticise others if they attempted to do similar.
@erskine_gareth Yeah I've gone that route before but definitely not worth it for kids.
I could probably get two together at some point but it's not worth it for the ear ache and tears from the one that doesn't get to go.
@erskine_gareth I didn't get over at all this year - I've 2 boys who want to go to Elland Road but getting 3 tickets together has proved too much of a stretch.
Although I'm happy we didn't get them for the Sunderland game!
@erskine_gareth Not to go all stats nerd but Sunderland appear to have been very fortunate - they've garnered way more points than performances merited.
Fair play to them but I'd be worried if we'd qualified for Europe this season. I'll take 14th this year and something more like 10th next time
@erskine_gareth We're a newly promoted side who went unbeaten against Scum, Liverpool and Chelsea. And in reality we were safe for a good while. We'd have been safe weeks ago in lots of past seasons.
I want to look up next season but this one has been absolutely grand on the whole.
@louorns To that level of variance though? The xG table has them 18th and they've qualified for the Europa League.
Although just checked Villa and they've overperformed by 17 points compared to Sunderland's 13
@LufcApl No-one actually believes that though.
I'm no Farke super fan but you have to acknowledge that he has fulfilled his brief.
Could he have done it differently? Of course. Could someone else achieve more with this squad? Probably.
But he has kept the team up comfortably
@SirGowen@AdamBlackmore@28jan84 Yep....it's the jouralists' fault that Saints systematically broke the rules, pressured interns into spying despite their reservations and then lied repeatedly to the EFL about the extent of the subterfuge.
@IamBalhamMatt Yes, it's Boro who are trying to get to the PL "by hook or by crook".
Not the team that was systematically breaking the rules around observing other teams training and pressuring their interns to carry it out, despite their objections.
@GeorgeElek@slbsn With Leeds, the moral outrage was off the scale for weeks and the 'not how we do things over here' brigade were out in force
But for some reason, despite Saints systematically breaking a specific EFL rule, the narrative has changed to 'it makes no difference/punishment is harsh'
