@TrickRubyVGC If we wanna talk rock slide why not mention the para flinch metagame of early REG F 2.0. which was by far worse than what we have now. Not to mention the best answer to bolt balance was dondozo slop. Hyper offense over slow sluggish brain numbing gameplay any day.

I still think REG F was worse than M-A and M-B that format was genuinely awful with nothing feeling good and bolt balance dominating even more than "Big 6" is rn IMO (IN MY OPINION)

Both being the last big tournaments of the format. If we wanna talk regionals Indianapolis had only 2 Zard Y's overall in the top 8 both of which were different

@TrickRubyVGC Zard Y has Big 6, Aero, dual primals, tox balance, all with different variations. If we are talking outside zard y archetypes I have a whole list.

Bolt had bolt balance. With usually one or two different mons. Outside of bolt there were 3 different archetypes that were viable.

@TrickRubyVGC The thing with bolt is that it was almost exclusively used on bolt balance teams and they were everywhere, it was also extremely boring to play with and against it. Zard Y is dominanting aswell sure but there are a lot more different archetypes with it than there was with bolt.

Like it was in this awkward middle ground where the power level wasnt too low but at the same time it wasnt too high so everything felt a bit too balanced and gave the actual playstyle balance way more room to breathe. The game was just super slow
