@mrlitl@LABallerLife@1andonlyVis@BronMuse@KingJames This team wasn’t trash? The first year without Lebron this team while retaining most of the core group (mo Williams and antawn jamison) goes on to win only 19 games, but they also proceed to set an nba record for longest losing streak in nba history. One of the worst teams ever.
@Keexy_Mustard @CruBMXrideordie@WhozMEECH Year before Nash - the suns won 29 games, the year after adding Steve Nash the Phoenix suns won 62 games, he took a 29 win team and made them a 62 win team in the “loaded west”. How is he not the most valuable? He deserved the MVP
@RHoveli @8_24Mamba4Ever Kobe himself admits that he took the backseat to Shaq for this title run. Shaq has the accolades and the stats to prove that he was the prime reason for this 3 peat. Kobe gets the credit for being the guy for 2 later. https://t.co/sve16Z4OIs
@RHoveli @8_24Mamba4Ever If he is the prime reason, why is Shaq the 3x finals MVP for that entire 3-peat? Shaq over the course of all those finals averaged over 30ppg over 10 rpg and over 2bpg.
@RHoveli @8_24Mamba4Ever There is knowing the game, and knowing the facts about history. I asked why is MJ pictured next to Kobe in a photo about their 3-peat greatness instead of the man who won the finals MVP for all 3 of those championships. It’s more appropriate to put Kobe next to Scottie.
@Drizzydawize @8_24Mamba4Ever Again 2001 is a defensive player of the year so, why is that not impressive? It’s the best defensive player in the league.
@Drizzydawize @8_24Mamba4Ever I already mentioned Dikembe Mutumbo won defensive player of the year the same year they faced off and couldn’t stop him. if the DPOY is a bad defender then nobody is a good one. Common reasoning there.
@Drizzydawize @8_24Mamba4Ever There is no argument, Shaq was definitively the best player on the lakers for this stretch of time. Shaq was widely considered the most dominant player in the game. He averaged the most points, rebounds and blocks for the lakers. Shaq needs to be first when talking this 3 peat
@Drizzydawize @8_24Mamba4Ever Scottie is important to the bulls run, it’s not discrediting Kobe to say he was not the best player on the lakers 3 peat. It’s just the facts, Kobe was not the best player on the lakers. Scottie was needed to win the bulls dynasty, Kobe was needed to win the 3 peat too.
@Drizzydawize @8_24Mamba4Ever Shaq faced defensive player of the year Dikembe Mutumbo when he played the sixers. He played the best defensive big of that specific year and dominated him. So, it’s not that Shaq didn’t have any opposition he was just unstoppable. So, again I don’t like the downplay of Shaq
@Drizzydawize @8_24Mamba4Ever I don’t like this false narrative that implies that Kobe was the guy for all 5 of his titles. Kobe was the best player for a back to back and he was the 2nd option for a 3 peat early in his career. But these posts imply that his 5 rings are on par with Jordan’s rings.
@Drizzydawize @8_24Mamba4Ever Everything you’re mentioning Scottie did for the bulls too. Scottie ran the offense, Scottie played both sides, Scottie averaged 20 PPG in those finals too. So, why can’t I just make that comparison that Kobe was what it was, he was 2nd to Shaq in this time period.
@Drizzydawize @8_24Mamba4Ever The original post a side by side of MJ and Kobe with their 3 peats. It implies that Kobe was the best player on those 3 peats because he was next to MJ. MJ was the de facto best player, he won 3 finals MVPs. Shaq should be next to MJ if we are talking about the Lakers 3 peat
@Drizzydawize @8_24Mamba4Ever Kobe won a finals when he didn’t play two of the games. Isn’t this more proof that he was the sidekick? He doesn’t even need to play and the lakers can still win a title during that 3 peat. Kobe deserves the full credit for his last two titles, but give Shaq credit for the 3 peat
@Drizzydawize @8_24Mamba4Ever Look at shaqs numbers compared to Kobe’s during that entire 3 peat run for every finals series. Shaq averaged over 30ppg for all 3 of those series - 38, 33, 36.
Kobe averaged 15, 24, 26. Shaq is scoring more than 10 more PPG than Kobe in those series. How is he not the sidekick
@CaliScorpio89@Da_Milkman15 @8_24Mamba4Ever The stats say Larry Bird was a better 3pt shooter. The career averages have Larry at 38% vs Draymond’s 31%. Kobe’s 3% is 33% vs Lebron’s 35%.
@clickthatfollow@dinkynievera Dwight Howard was broken what an excuse and a sad one. He played 76 games for the lakers he wasn’t hurt. He was the definitive best center in basketball the 5 years prior. 5x all nba 1st team, 3x DPOY. But because Kobe broke his will (his own teammate), he no longer a superstar?
