It’s just the facts, Kobe was not the best player on the lakers. Scottie was needed to win the bulls dynasty, Kobe was needed to win the 3 peat too.

@Drizzydawize @8_24Mamba4Ever Shaq faced defensive player of the year Dikembe Mutumbo when he played the sixers. He played the best defensive big of that specific year and dominated him. So, it’s not that Shaq didn’t have any opposition he was just unstoppable. So, again I don’t like the downplay of Shaq

@Drizzydawize @8_24Mamba4Ever I don’t like this false narrative that implies that Kobe was the guy for all 5 of his titles. Kobe was the best player for a back to back and he was the 2nd option for a 3 peat early in his career. But these posts imply that his 5 rings are on par with Jordan’s rings.

@Drizzydawize @8_24Mamba4Ever Everything you’re mentioning Scottie did for the bulls too. Scottie ran the offense, Scottie played both sides, Scottie averaged 20 PPG in those finals too. So, why can’t I just make that comparison that Kobe was what it was, he was 2nd to Shaq in this time period.

He doesn’t even need to play and the lakers can still win a title during that 3 peat. Kobe deserves the full credit for his last two titles, but give Shaq credit for the 3 peat

@Drizzydawize @8_24Mamba4Ever Look at shaqs numbers compared to Kobe’s during that entire 3 peat run for every finals series. Shaq averaged over 30ppg for all 3 of those series - 38, 33, 36.

Kobe averaged 15, 24, 26. Shaq is scoring more than 10 more PPG than Kobe in those series. How is he not the sidekick

He was the definitive best center in basketball the 5 years prior. 5x all nba 1st team, 3x DPOY. But because Kobe broke his will (his own teammate), he no longer a superstar?
