Sans les vidéos, les témoignages directs et la presse locale relayés en ligne, le public serait resté prisonnier d’un récit tardif, filtré et très éloigné de l’ampleur réelle des faits.

Avant que les images ne s’imposent, les grands médias parlaient encore de quelques centaines de migrants.

Cette séquence rouvre aussi le débat sur les ingérences intérieures et extérieures : l’ingérence extérieure réside dans l’utilisation des flux migratoires comme moyen de pression, mais ceux qui ont tenté d’en minimiser l’ampleur n’étaient pas des comptes anonymes étrangers. C’étaient des médias labellisés et l’AFP, qui ont ainsi exercé une forme d’ingérence intérieure dans la perception des événements.
