Surf lifeguards responding to an incident at Auckland’s Piha beach have been stood down for the day. The person, who is reportedly missing, has not yet been found.
Surf lifeguards are responding to an incident currently occurring at Auckland’s Piha beach. Two inflatable rescue boat (IRB) crews are conducting a shoreline search following reports of a person being washed into the water south of South Piha beach.
Parts of SLSNZ Southern Region joined the party this weekend with some clubs having their first patrols of the season.
Remember if you're heading to the beach this summer, find a lifeguarded beach and swim between the red and yellow flags.
