I’m ecstatic to be leaving with a first class degree in Speech and Language Therapy! I am feeling so proud of myself for persevering while struggling with dsylexia and home sickness at times! @QMUniversity has given me some the happiest memories and I’ll miss my cohort! #slt2be
@areawitch Using a visual timetable with children just meant I was an unorganised therapist who needed the reminder rather than for the children. Something I still disagree with 🤷♀️
Alice - 'Do lots of exercise'
For me, the terms "Share bag" and "Family size" really are loose terms. I somehow feel Alice knows I'm fatter and is bringing this up to show dominance in the class. Well it's worked. I'm insecure and squidgy. I should probably go for a jog soon-ish
On Monday, a colleague and I are starting our school transition group and I am looking forward to it more than any of the children will be!! Starting primary school can be daunting, especially when you have SEN.
Sending emails to parents and colleagues discussing ‘the Autumn term’, reminding me that Summer is nearly over and it’s going to get colder and darker! Where has this year gone 😳
@HelenLitchfield Hi Helen, someone recommend i reach out to you as you might know the answer to my question. Do you know if we have any sea purslane or sea aster growing on Guernsey? Thank you
@scotfamparty Raise attainment in school. Teach sex education so our children can make informed decisions about their future 🥰 oh wait you are against that :/
@Connie_SLT @SLTcharlotteb I thought it was a very poor portrayal of stammering. And the fact that he only succeeded once the stammer was eliminated is unrealistic!
This tweet inspired me to do a bit of research into SEMH as it is not a area I know a lot about.
Shocked to find out that 81% of children with emotional and behaviour disorders have an unidentified language deficit (Hollo et al. 2014). I wonder how we can close this gap?
Adding SEMH to my growing list of SLT areas I’m interested in after today’s placement session! Especially loved the quote “when a flower doesn’t bloom you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower”. Thank you @SamTrebble87 for a really interesting presentation! #slt2b
