“If you didn’t have a Louisville Slugger in your hands, you weren’t playing baseball.” – Lou Brock
Remembered for his blazing speed on the basepaths, it’s easy to forget how great of a hitter Brock was. Lou collected his 3,000 hit on this day in 1979.
On this day in 1972, Chicago’s Dick Allen, who was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame this past Sunday, hits two inside-the-park home runs at Metropolitan Stadium in Minnesota. The first player since 1939 to so. ⚾

On this day in 1941, Joe DiMaggio collects three hits in Cleveland’s League Park to extend his hit streak to 56 games. Don’t miss his Louisville Slugger from that game and the streak on display in our museum! ⚾

We signed Joe Morgan to a bat contract on this day in 1963. He preferred wide grained bats with a flame tempered finish and the weight marked in pencil on the knob of the bat.
