And I know I'm not alone in this healing game.
Seems a smidge easier when you know people that went through the same thing.. feel the same way, and still have a lot of processing to do too. ❤️🩹
I see you, hear you, and stand beside you.
Sending ❤️🩹 from Detroit.

You are not a machine. You are more like a garden. You need different things on different days. A little sun today, a little less water tomorrow. You have fallow and fruitful seasons. It is not a design flaw. It is wiser than perpetual sameness.
King's College Hospital in London has opened a rooftop garden for critical care patients. Its first patient, a 29-year-old woman dependent on feeding tubes, said the outdoor space gave her 'a real boost to keep on going
Kevin McGonigle on the Tigers’ slump:
"We know what we've done the last two years. It's tough right now but it's a long season. I think everybody's head's on the right way and ready to go out each day and fight for each other. It's a little tough right now, but I know we will come out of it."

To anyone who needs to hear this:
I hope that life gets better for you.
I hope that you know & understand that you are so, so loved.
May you find peace & strength in realizing you have survived 100% of your hardest days.

Dear Runners. Not everyone runs to become faster. Some run to heal. To breathe. To remember they’re alive.
If you’re out there running at your pace, you’re already winning. 🥇
Resonates for RNs too, inpt & outpt. Esp those of us in the covid trenches & told how resilient we were. I loathe that word now. We're all replaceable. Guilt of not being there is REAL. 6 yrs of therapy has taught me to take care of myself/family first. Human First/RN second.
Especial médicos🩺⚕️🏥👨🏻⚕️👩🏻⚕️.
Os dejo esta carta en JAMA. Se la pondré a mis alumnos en la próxima clase:
He elegido estas frases :
👇🏻⏰
A 45-year-old healthy-looking psychiatrist, lifelong nonsmoker, mom of 3, and residency program director gets diagnosed with lung cancer after a routine scan.
She thought it was nothing.
This JAMA piece hit hard. She writes so honestly about realizing that no title, no institution, and no amount of “important work” can replace being there for your kids and your own life.
We run around like we’re immortal—long hours, endless meetings, constant depletion—until something reminds us time is finite.
Nothing replaces watching your children grow up. Nothing.
Take care of yourself and the people who love you. Don’t keep postponing your real life.

The ICU is always a humbling place.
It reaffirms that the best things to treasure and not take for granted are one’s health and the people who will be there for you if your health is compromised😔
Invest in people.
LOTS of love coming from the sky last night in #Dearborn.
Remember to be kind to yourself and give yourself grace. Know that you ARE doing a good job. ❤️❤️❤️
