@gh0stsarentreal Yes the flag was for taunting, I was just pointing out how odd this appeared. It’s like he initiated contact to justify his taunting flag
@HoneyBadgerC93 The thing is, the ref starts to look away from him when he does the hip check. If you’re getting out of the way you will keep focusing on the person till you’re out of the way
@Redsox4life78@NFLOfficiating I know. That wasn’t ever the question here because the penalty was for taunting. The question is why the intentional move to run into the player?
@Le7end__ @IaModerate @NFLOfficiating Dude it’s pretty evident the ref backing up was intentional to draw contact. That’s what we’re wonder why he would do that. Nothing accidental about it
@Le7end__ @IaModerate @NFLOfficiating No if I player touches a ref or were to do something similar it would be a penalty and possible ejection.
Take out the flag all together, do you not see anything off about how the ref stops and leans back to hip check the player?
@xELITECRoWx @NFLOfficiating Never said that this is what the flag was called for. I was more asking for an explanation as to why the official would initiate contact here. It seems like a way to validate the flag being thrown.
@Hoffaucnj@NFLOfficiating The flag was for the taunting call. It just makes me question if him initiating contact just validated in his mind the taunting.
@THEJANITOR15@NFLOfficiating Yea he def was going to call. It’s just more the question of why initiate contact. Maybe he wasn’t going to call it and then after the contact it validated it?
@Flinzo@NFLOfficiating I’d have to go back and rewatch all of the footage but there were penalties called that directly resulted in about an 11 point swing. FG on the taunting play, the TD taken away for a lineman not making contact with a defender inside the box. Also the late hit not called.
@jackpovinelli @J_Diggs_ @NFLOfficiating I understand what the penalty was for. IMO and the opinion of a lot of people is that it was a stretch to call it taunting. What baffled me was the shear intent on making contact with the player as he ran off the field. That’s what I find odd.
