Drawing on discussions at the FORECAST and STEADINESS workshops at #HiPEAC25, the TechNexus Programme white paper sets out a series of recommendations for the development of complex and critical systems – an area with significant potential for Europe.

The white paper's authors are Spyros Lalis, Danh Le Phuoc, Alois Zoitl, Octavian Fratu and Charles Robinson. The paper was developed with the support of the following projects: @mlsysops , Arrowhead, SMARTY Chips JU Project, @energyecseu, @SmartEdge_EU , ISOLDE, and HiPEAC.

DISCOVER-US is calling for proposals of research exchanges of between 20 and 30 days from the EU to the US, focusing on distributed computing, the compute continuum, swarm intelligence and edge AI. Researchers based in the EU are invited to apply via the DISCOVER-US website by 2 May 2025.

He is giving a presentation on the challenges to overcome for IoT applications and standards, introducing the role of AI as a way of reducing the burden on the cloud by preprocessing at the edge— for videos, for example.
