Lying alone in bed listening to the rain outside. 11pm. Rhythmic plinking on the glass sunroof. Slowly drifting into sleep. Time is slow, the house is quiet. Nights like these are divine & magical.
Watched Project Hail Mary at the movies, finished reading Atmosphere on Audible, rewatched The Martian on tv, and now watching the real life live feed of The Artemis II blasting into Space. And I think to myself, what a wonderful world. π
Little by little, u teach them to have more responsibilities. To help with cleaning, laundry, to fill up their water, to prepare their cereal. It's your job as the parent, but it's heart breaking too. The thought that u are teaching them how to live without u one day.
I found my place of bliss. It's taking a steaming hot shower in darkness by flickering candlelight. To feel the embrace of heat and the rhythmic sound of running water all around, and on u. Ending in a heated towel wrap and cooling skin routine ah..

The curse of turning 40 soon. Wanting to go out to try things, and then not wanting to change clothes, put shoes on, and leaving your warm and comfortable home to actually go.
My husband just compared the annual celebrity Met Gala to District 1 & 2 of the Hunger Games. π He's not wrong. People with money and their fashion style events lol
It's overwhelming. Change. Losing what was familiar and routine; trying to adapt to the fast and many changes. My mind is just trying to keep up, but it is quite rocked. It's overwhelming.
It's the curse of being a woman. When the hormones ramp up and we have no other choice but to give in to the fatigue, bodily pain, pimple break outs, and fog brain. But we dig deep to piece ourselves together, to present ourselves normal, and to push past to still be functional.
And just like that, so accidentally, my kid just shed a layer of her childhood off. A shaving of magic and innocence just sprinkled out. She learnt that we were Santa this whole time. :(
Nothing better than going on a crisp evening walk. 100% shakes an energy lull after work and dinner, while also loving the walk conversations with the hubster. π
It would feel worse, had he became a great father to another family while having left me. But it so has it, he was a lousy father all around. Things work out as they need to. It's how we move forward and make reparations. It's loving my mother for her unconditional love.
