CSX recently unveiled a plan to change how the carrier moves freight between Chicago and the east coast — a plan that would have closed down operations in Cleveland's Collinwood Yard, forcing more than 120 SMART-TD members to either relocate or leave the industry (and their pensions) behind.
That's when SMART-TD leaders enlisted the help of Senator Sherrod Brown, who stepped in and helped protect our members' jobs.
