Students good morning. When it is inclement weather, SMB Tech School/SMB Technology will usually follow the same school closing as Gwinnett county public schools. However, Gwinnett County schools are still open this morning. We have made the decision to close on campus studies today due to the weather.

We will resume online classes today. Please follow up with your Instructor for any LIVE classes or work that should be done. Clinical students please watch for a scheduled clinical online skills class tonight with Dr. Pedro Criollo, MD Medical Assistant Professor you will still have your theory clinical lectures with Dr. Daniela Arredondo. We will resume regularly scheduled on campus classes on Monday. Thank you and everyone please be safe.

As flu season approaches, we must still be mindful that our US government has not released an official end of the Covid virus. We must all be mindful that as we approach the fall and winter months that we should make sure we are dressing appropriately. We must be wearing our PPE when we are in the laboratory as well as your lab coats. Please get in the great habit of washing your hands after every contact with bodily fluids as you would when you have contact with patients.

For those of you who are in your first session of classes, you’ll need to complete your medical clearance before beginning medical rotations. It is important for you to make sure that if you are capable of taking the flu, COVID and HepB series vaccines that you do so to assure that you have immunity from any pathogenic microorganism or disease producing conditions.

Please if you are sick, meaning if you have a cough, runny nose, fever, or any symptoms that mimic Covid or the flu, do not come into the school. You must call and we will excuse you (if administration permits), in effort that we did not potentially spread germs, other viruses around on the campus.
